Love Island USA Season 8 fans were all left frustrated. This is because the show's users had to face an unusual technical problem. What happened was that the show's official voting app did not allow fans to vote. The app began glitching as fans submitted their first votes for the eighth season of Love Island USA. Well, fans were very angry and had taken to X to speak about voter suppression, and that fans and producers were not allowed to cast their votes.

Fans of Love Island USA Season 8 took to X, Reddit, and Instagram to say they could not vote and wanted the voting window extended. The makers of Love Island Season 8 had taken to X to write about the app crashing and penned, "For those of you experiencing issues registering to vote, we apologise for the inconvenience. Our team is actively working on it. Stay tuned for updates."

An angry user on X penned, "You waited until after the voting window was up to even say anything about the issue? I wasn’t able to vote, and now it says I’ve registered too many times, even though I wasn't able to vote on either of my devices. What about the people who reached the maximum number of registrations?"

Netizens expressed anger as they could not vote for their favourite contestants

Well, the controversy had started when fans were asked to vote for their favourite islanders, but they could not do the same. A user had written, "If my vote still counts here, I pick 1. Gabriel and Jen 2. Sol and Sincere 3. Please fix voting, reopen again and additionally, please explain why if you registered to vote before tonight, it asks you to register again." Another one shared about being locked out of voting, as somehow the user had hit the maximum number of registrations. The comment read:

"Mind you I’ve only registered on one device. Just terrible, you guys need to get it together. I’ve registered before the vote tonight and was told to re-register countless times during the vote. Now it’s saying I’ve reached the maximum number of devices when I’ve only used this one phone. Please fix this. Guys, if it says you reached the maximum amount. Just use a different phone number if you have one handy, and it’ll let you vote. II had to use my boyfriend's phone."

Love Island USA Season 8 fans revealed that they have extended the voting window

Love Island USA Season 8 makers in a separate tweet had penned, "Your overwhelming enthusiasm for America’s first vote caused the app to crash, but don’t worry, we are extending the voting window until 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT on Wednesday, June 10!" Reportedly, users faced issues, and the show's makers began investigating. They have been planning to compensate due to the glitch. A user wrote, for anyone having problems, just put a 1 in the country code and then a 1 and ur full phone number in the other box. Yes, but I reached the number of registration bc I kept trying over and over! Now what?"

Netizens did not know how to react when they kind of reached the maximum registration limit. The user had literally only registered once before the same. Some users thought that it was an individual problem until one said, "Yes, I’ve been having problems/ trouble getting my votes in for Love Island USA Season 8. Glad it wasn’t just me; there are others having trouble, too. Hopefully, we somehow/ someway get to vote."

Love Island USA Season 8 fans are reportedly unable to vote

A netizen, a while back, had taken to X to mention that the app was not yet working. The comment mentioned, "Registered last week, and it is still not working. Just keeps saying I reached my maximum amount of registrations, yet won't load the vote at all. I have uninstalled/reset my phone & reinstalled, and it still won't work."
