Jeremy Clarkson, the renowned TV presenter and journalist, widely known for Clarkson’s Farm, recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive but early-stage prostate cancer. The emotional revelation has put the veteran journalist's personal life back in the spotlight, particularly his nearly decade-long relationship with actress and Clarkson's Farm fan favourite, Lisa Hogan.
After Clarkson's recent joke about wedding bells, it looks like the Irish actress had already made her feelings about marriage and kids crystal clear.
Weeks before he shared his cancer diagnosis, Jeremy Clarkson jokingly suggested that marrying an Irish woman could help him navigate certain tax complications related to farming. He quipped, "If only I knew someone I could marry who was Irish," a cheeky nod to Lisa, who was born in Dublin.
The playful comment immediately fueled speculation that the longtime couple could be considering marriage after nearly eight years together. The show even featured a moment where Lisa jokingly asked if Jeremy was proposing after he promised her a "big surprise." Instead, he pointed to a fallen willow tree. Clarkson replied:
"I'll think about the proposal, okay? I'm not ready yet."
While long-term Clarkson Farm fans may be rooting for a wedding for quite some time now, Lisa herself had previously spoken up about how she feels about the idea of marriage at this age. Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2022, she was asked whether marriage was on the cards. The actress bluntly said:
"Mrs Clarkson? No, thank you, I like Lisa Hogan."

Now in her fifties, Lisa has had her fair share of experience, both in marriage and parenthood. The actress had been married to her ex-husband, Baron Steven, for 30 years until their separation in 2011. Lisa explained in her 2022 interview:
"We're at a stage where we are not going to have kids. I'm just happy pootling along. I think because of our age, it's much easier. You go: 'God, is it you I end up with? OK, that's it'. But it's relaxing knowing you are not going to be with anybody else. It gives you a certain amount of liberation."
Both Lisa and Jeremy entered the relationship with families of their own. Lisa shares three children with her former husband, Baron Steven Bentinck, while Clarkson has three children from his marriage to Frances Cain. Instead, the couple have focused on building a life together at Diddly Squat Farm, where Lisa has become a beloved part of Clarkson's farming adventures.
Lisa Hogan and Jeremy Clarkson have been together since 2017 after being introduced by mutual friends. Despite their 14-year age gap, the pair quickly connected and built a strong relationship. Speaking on RTE Radio 1 in 2024, Lisa revealed that she wasn't immediately ready to date and made Clarkson work for her attention.

According to her, the former Top Gear host spent three months courting her before she finally gave him a chance. Before meeting Jeremy, Lisa had been married to Baron Steven Bentinck for nearly 30 years. Reflecting on their romance, she said Clarkson's sense of humour and ability to make her laugh played a big role in bringing them together, adding that they simply "get on" remarkably well.
Since then, Lisa has traded a more glamorous city lifestyle for muddy boots, farm animals, and long days helping run Clarkson's growing agricultural empire. Clarkson has frequently praised her contribution to both the farm and the Diddly Squat shop.
With Jeremy Clarkson's ongoing cancer battle, Lisa Hogan's constant presence by his side is more than enough proof that the couple doesn't need any legal adjective added to their bond.
