35-year-old nurse from Duxbury, Massachusetts, Lindsay Clancy, hit the headlines for a horrific incident that took place back in 2023. Lindsay Clancy is believed to have committed a brutal crime of killing her kids. She has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty in the deaths of her children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.

During a trial in Massachusetts earlier, Lindsay's ex-husband and the father of their three late kids revealed how, a week before allegedly killing her kids and attempting suicide, she heard a man directing her to take the lives of her kids, including hers. The three of Lindsay and Patrick's kids were found dead in their family home's basement, while the mom was found in the yard, paralysed from the waist down, as she jumped from the second-story window. Prosecutors believed that Lindsay Clancy was an intentional killer who pre-planned and sent her husband to pick up food and medicine, just before killing the kids.

On the other hand, Clancy's attorneys don't argue that she killed her kids, but mentioned that she shouldn't be held criminally responsible, as she was mentally ill, suffering from bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis. On Monday, i.e., August 10, 2026, Clancy’s psychiatrist, Dr Jennifer Tufts, returned to the court for cross-examination and was grilled by Clancy's attorney, who not only questioned her about her experience but also argued that she failed to treat the 35-year-old mom.

Sharing her side of the story, Jennifer revealed in court that she believed that Lindsay would be candid and share all the information regarding her treatment during their 14 telehealth sessions. According to her, the last session took place back on January 23, 2023, a day before Lindsay is believed to have strangled her kids to death. The psychiatrist revealed that the 35-year-old nurse was in a generally flat mood. Testifying about her notes from the final session, the psychiatrist revealed:

"Mood was the same -- flat, anxious, no motivation, numb. She has to force herself to get out of bed and out of the house, but is able to do that, and she is sleeping OK."

Lindsay Clancy's attorney questioned her psychiatrist about her telehealth sessions, and she countered

During a three-hour cross-examination, Clancy's attorney questioned the psychiatrist about her approach of treating the 35-year-old mom through video call sessions, even when her condition seemed to be worsening. To this, Jennifer argued that it never occurred to her that there was any issue going on, as she believed that she had all the information she needed. She remained 'surprised' to know that Clancy called suicide hotlines twice during the time she was seeking treatment.

The psychiatrist stated that Clancy denied feeling suicidal during the time she was seeking treatment, but admitted to being close to thinking about the same. Prosecutors countered Clancy's claims of not being treated properly by showing the records of her changing doctors and medications frequently and not being serious about her health. Jennifer, who started treating Clancy in 2022, also recently revealed that the nurse never told her about the manic episodes she faced, including her hearing a man's voice, directing her to kill her kids.

Three days back, Jennifer was questioned by the prosecutors, where she revealed that Clancy sought help from her for anxiety and asked for medication to treat her sleeplessness. Patrick and Lindsay sued Jennifer and another psychiatrist, Alia Goodheart, claiming that they failed to diagnose the nurse following the birth of her younger child and overmedicated her. On the other hand, the psychiatrists denied liability and argued that the children's deaths were not 'reasonably foreseeable.'
