Linda Cohn was an anchor of the ESPN show, SportsCenter, for more than 30 years. Following her exit from ESPN, Linda’s personal life and career have come into the spotlight once again. Linda Cohn has built a big fan base over the years with her frequent appearances on the small screen. Outside the television, she also has a family, which includes two children, a daughter named Sammy and a son named Dan Kaufman. The duo was born from Linda’s previous marriage to Stew Kaufman. However, detailed information on Stew’s professional career remains unknown to this day.
On the other hand, Linda’s children have also preferred to live a private life away from the limelight. Linda’s son, Dan, is active on Instagram with more than 2,500 followers. The bio mentions ESPN, although the position or designation has not been revealed. Furthermore, the bio also says that he was the Time Magazine Person of the Year in 2006. Sammy also operates an Instagram page with more than 1,600 followers. However, her account is currently set to private.

While Linda Cohn is currently single, she was married to Stew Kaufman in the past. Although the relationship stayed out of the spotlight for all these years, reports suggest that Linda and Stew tied the knot in 1980, while the former was still a student of SUNY Oswego at that time. The former couple divorced in 2008, and the reasons for the same were not revealed during that period.

However, a few reports have claimed that the divorce happened after Linda allegedly cheated on Stew with Matt City, a well-known hockey coach. Linda and Stew never responded to the allegations over the years. While the buzz was never confirmed, Linda and Matt also got romantically linked to each other for 11 years after her divorce from Stew. But Linda addressed her marriage to Stew in her book, Cohn-Head: A No-Holds-Barred Account of Breaking Into the Boys Club, and said:
“I thought I loved Stew and I said ‘I love you’ to him frequently. I had to admit that, emotionally, I was always holding a little bit back.”
As mentioned, Linda Cohn’s retirement from ESPN was confirmed on June 22, 2026 (ET) in a press release. She recalled her journey in a statement, saying that she has many memories related to her hosting, reporting, and conversations with various popular faces. She continued to address her career and said:
“What I’m most proud of is that my career lasted long enough for me to see little girls grow up watching SportsCenter, enter this business, and succeed in it. If my journey helped make that path a little easier for them, then that’s the achievement I’ll cherish most.”
