The legendary film personality of the South Indian cinema, Puneeth Rajkumar had succumbed to a heart attack on October 29, 2021. His sudden death had shocked people across the nation, and many political leaders and celebrities had mourned his demise. However, his wife, Ashwini Revanath, has for the first time broken her silence after her husband's death.
On October 29, 2021, popular South Indian actor, Puneeth Rajkumar was admitted to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after the Sandalwood actor had suffered a severe cardiac arrest. As per the reports, some of the most dignified doctors of the city had treated the actor in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). However, despite their best efforts, the doctors couldn't save him from the clutches of death. The passing of the iconic actor had shocked the entire Indian film industry.

On November 16, 2021, late actor, Puneeth Rajkumar's wife, Ashwini Revanath, took to her Instagram handle and penned an emotional letter for his fans. It was her first and only post on her social media handle, which left the fans teary-eyed. In the heartmelting letter, Ashwini wrote:
"The untimely death of Sri, Puneeth Rajkumar has been shocking not only to the family but also to the entire state of Karnataka. It is hard to imagine the extent of pain this loss ‘would have brought on you, the fans who made him the ‘Power Star’. Despite the pain that you have gone through, you have not lost your calm and not let any unpleasant incidents occur, ensuring a respectful farewell to Puneeth Rajkumar."

Continuing the letter, the doting wife grieved the sudden demise of her husband, Puneeth Rajkumar, and shared that she was in tears. Thanking her fans and friends for their condolences and support, Ashwini concluded the letter as:
"It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the condolences from millions; not only cinephiles but people of all ages from India and abroad alike. I am in tears when I see thousands of you follow your dear Appu's path and register for eye donation. He will live on in these good deeds that you do by keeping him as an ideal and also in the zeal that his memory inspires in you. On behalf of our entire family, heartfelt gratitude to all the fans and every individual for your love and support."

Puneeth Rajkumar has a massive fanbase, and people love him like crazy. After the news of Puneeth Rajkumar's hospitalisation had broken in the media, thousands of his fans had gathered on the roads. After that, the city's administrative department had deployed police officers outside the hospital to control the emotional fans, who were going through a massive heartbreak. The actor was renowned for his memorable performance in the film, Vasantha Geetha.
Puneeth and Ashwini had met each other through a common friend after completing their studies. After a few months of their friendship, Puneeth had realised that she was the one for him and had proposed to her. The actor had once shared that he was very nervous at that time and was quoted by Metrolife as saying:
"I still remember how nervous I was to broach the subject of my marriage with Ashwini to my parents. I had never spoken to them so freely and openly about such matters. It was the first time I stood before my father and told him I wanted to marry this girl I loved."
For the unversed, Puneeth had got married to Ashwini in a grand wedding ceremony on December 1, 1999.
