'Kyun Hota Hain Pyarrr,' Here's What 'Addi,' 'Nikki' And The Cast Of The Teen Drama Are Up To Now

It was in 2002 when the popular drama, Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, first came out. What made the teen romantic drama stand out was that it offered a sense of freshness amidst the hordes of family dramas of the time. Soon enough, fans fell in love with its catchy music and dramatic climaxes. Even though many might consider it a quintessential soap opera, for the teen audiences from back then, it was their first brush with cheesy romance. 

However, the part that actually got viewers hooked on the show was none other than Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr's star cast. Now, over 20 years later, let's take a look at what ‘Adi,’ ‘Nikki,’ and the rest of the gang are up to now. 

Amit Sadh played the role of ‘Aditya Bhargav'

To jog your memory, it was Amit Sadh who played the male lead, ‘Aditya Bhargav,' when Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr first aired. He was portrayed as the college's ‘popular boy,’ a stereotype that we still get to see in teenage movies and series these days. Through his role and his iconic smile, the actor made a permanent place in the hearts of viewers. However, since then, he has become more than just a teenage heartthrob. 

Amit tasted commercial success when he acted in the much-loved film, Kai Po Che, and has since appeared in various movies. He was also seen in ZEE5's Barot House. Most recently, Amit starred in Amazon Prime Video's psychological thriller, Pune Highway, in 2025. 

Sudeep Sahir took over as the lead after Amit Sadh left the series

For those unaware, Amit Sadh had to leave the series after some time due to an accident. This is when Sudeep Sahir took over as the male lead. He was known for having a mischievous smile on the show. Since then, he has appeared on various shows. In 2019, he played the role of ‘Lord Krishna' in the show, Paramavatar Shri Krishna. Most recently, he was seen in Tera Yaar Hoon Main and Parineeti. 

Riva Bubber played ‘Nikki’ on the show

Riva Bubber played ‘Nikki’, the female lead on Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, marking the start of her acting journey. Even though it was the first time in front of the camera, she became an instant favourite on the show. While she started in several shows since then, she eventually decided to move behind the camera. According to reports, at present, she runs her own photography studio, Studio Riva Bubber. 

Vikas Sethi played the role of ‘Karan’

'Karan' was essentially the ‘bad boy' of the series. And this role was played by none other than Vikas Sethi. He later went on to star in more popular movies and TV shows like K3G and Sasural Simar Ka. 

Shruti Seth played ‘Nikki’s’ best friend 

Shruti Seth had played the role of ‘Ramya,’ who was ‘Nikki’s’ best friend in the series. Later, she appeared in the web series, Mentalhood, which also marked Karishma Kapoor's digital debut. Her other recent projects include Dil, Dosti, Dilemma and 36 Days. 

Sonal Pendse was the antagonist of the series 

It was Sonal Pendse who played the part of the antagonist, ‘Aishwarya’ in Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr. Her smug expressions gave her the perfect villainess look. Later, she appeared in the comedy-drama, Kituu Sab Jantii Hai. 

Harmeet Singh was the goofball in the friend group 

Harmeet Singh's character was constantly on the journey to find love on the show. This led many to dub him the ‘adorable goofball' of the friend circle. Since then, he went on to form the music director duo, Meet Bros. For those unaware, they have several popular songs to their credit, such as Baby Doll and Chittiyan Kalaiyyan.
