Kylie Jenner And Timothee Chalamet Reportedly Faced 'Friction', 'She Was Making Him Claustrophobic'

Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are head-over-heels in love with one another. Although people initially thought they were an unlikely couple and would not last long. However, Kylie and Timothee's appearances together proved that they were taking their relationship seriously. The socialite was recently even spotted wearing a huge pear-shaped diamond ring. However, as per latest reports, Timothee and Kylie’s relationship wasn’t this rosy and they faced a lot of ‘friction’ initially.

However, the relationship was not this smooth when they started dating. A source told the Daily Mail that Kylie always wanted to spend time with Timothee, which he wasn’t comfortable off.

Timothee felt he needed ‘space’ in the relationship and blatantly told Kylie about the same. The source also revealed that Chalamet expressed his boundaries to Jenner. Elaborating on the details about the same, the source added:

“She was making him feel claustrophobic. She wanted to be around him all the time. That wasn't working for him. He's a person who needs his space and she wasn't giving it to him. He made no bones finally telling her about it.”

Another source revealed that Kylie was initially jealous that Timothee hardly spent any time with her as he was busy travelling for filming. Things reportedly took a turn for the couple in late 2025 as Chalamet's work schedule ramped up and Kylie missed his presence around her. It was also reported that Timothee and Kylie reportedly broke up due to their opposing views on marriage.

But by January 2026, they rebuilt their relationship and it was evident during the Critics Choice Awards in 2026. After winning the best actor award for his performance in Marty Supreme, Chalamet closed his acceptance speech by thanking his 'partner of three years', Kylie and professed his love for her on stage. With time, Kylie understood his priorities and also made sure to give him his ‘space’. As per the source:

“Kylie has learned what the secret is to her and Timothée's three-year relationship. She now lets him do his own thing. That was something she was uneasy with when they first started getting serious. That caused friction between them.”

Over the next two years, Kylie began attending Timothée’s premieres, film festivals, and award shows regularly.
