Kyle Busch's Wife Almost Divorced Him, Following Her Miscarriage, 'We Were Spiraling.. It Was Scary'

NASCAR legend Kyle Busch passed away at the age of 41. 'Rodwy' was suffering from sinus, and while the actual cause of his death has not been officially disclosed, it was reported that Kyle had 'severe illness' which led him to hospitalisation and eventually his death on May 21, 2026. The death of Kyle at the mere age of 41 is shocking, and it left his friends, fans and family in utter shock. Kyle is survived by his wife, Samantha and his kids. Amid Kyle's passing, let's look back to a time, when Kyle almost divorced his wife of decades, Samantha, and the situation even worsened after her miscarriage.

How did Kyle Busch meet Samantha Busch? A look into their love story

It was never love at first sight for Kyle and Samantha. The duo met at the tracks when she was 21 years old and was working at a promotional event, arranging rides with drivers. Jimmie Johnson’s PR representative, Amy asked Kyle to give a ride, and it was during that time only, when Samantha met the NASCAR legend. Samantha was a student of psychology at Purdue University at that time. When Kyle and Samantha first met, she held her charming personality and invited him to accompany her and Amy to the bars.

Kyle, although he politely brushed it off, later asked for Amy's phone number. Samantha was scared; however, she gave him her number, leading to their frequent conversation. Kyle and Samantha spoke for four months before going on their first date. She revealed that it was Kyle's adorable nature that won her over. Soon they fell head over heels in love with each other and eventually got married in December 2010.

Kyle Busch and Samantha Busch almost got divorced

It was in 2015 when they welcomed their son, Brexton. Eventually, Kyle and Samantha's relationship faced a rocky phase. Speaking to PEOPLE, Samantha said that Kyle had always been her rock, but she felt that the place was no more. She mentioned that she felt that divorce was real, and it was actually scary. Samantha said:

"Kyle [Busch] was my rock and it felt like I didn’t have that anymore. We were spiraling. It felt like divorce was real and it was scary.”

Reportedly, Samantha and Kyle had to have an IVF journey, following which they welcomed their son. Following this, they were seemingly planning for another baby; however, the trials failed, and in 2022, they welcomed their daughter, Lennix, via surrogacy. In between, the couple went through a lot, emotionally, mentally and physically, which took a toll on their marital life. 

Appearing on the podcast Infertile AF in 2020, Samantha Busch spoke about the struggles they were facing as a couple, stating that it was more about fulfilling a duty rather than love. She added that she got kind of obsessed with having a baby, and little things would set her off, and then Kyle off, leading to a fight for nothing. Samantha said:

"With all the hormones and obsessiveness about having a child, it was like, making love was gone. It was just a job, it was a chore, it was so much pressure. I felt like the littlest thing would set me off, and that was hard, and then it would set Kyle off, and it was just fighting over nothing."

In 2018, Samantha faced a miscarriage, and it strained their relationship even more. The main issue came with the fact that their ways of moving on and grieving differed. While Kyle's mindset was that he needed to move on from what happened, Samatha had to talk about her feelings daily, which caused an imbalance and kept harming their marriage. However, in 2022, the duo welcomed their daughter, and this phase became the best moment for them to heal whatever cracks were there.
