Kyle Busch was one of the well-known personalities in motorsports history. A winner of two Cup Series, Kyle Busch has a record of total victories across the three national series of NASCAR with over 230 combined wins. It was on May 21, 2026, when a shocking report left everyone shocked to the core, as reports claimed that Kyle Busch had passed away at the age of 41.
Amid this, ESPN’s Marty Smith, an NFL insider, broke down during a live broadcast while speaking about Kyle Busch. He revealed speaking to Kyle, just a few days before he passed away. According to him, it was on May 16, 2026, when he and ESPN's senior NASCAR reporter, Ryan McGee, spoke to Kyle. Marty Smith didn't mention whether they had spoken to Kyle about his health issues, but stated that it's just impossible for them to even articulate the shock they are in with the passing of Kyle. He also praised Kyle for his unbeatable talent and mentioned that he, just like others, is at a loss. Marty Smith, while breaking down, said:
"It’s generally impossible to articulate what an incredible talent that Kyle Busch was.Ryan McGee and I just talked to him at length on Saturday … I just can’t wrap my hands around this. I’m at a loss.”

The news of Kyle Busch's passing came as a shock, as he reportedly died after a 'severe illness', and the details about the same haven't been officially disclosed yet. Kyle's death was confirmed through a joint statement by his family and NASCAR. While the official cause of death hasn't been revealed as of now, Kyle's recent health issue has grabbed the attention. Kyle was suffering from a sinus, which was further complicated at Watkins Glen, due to the change in weather.

Following his condition worsened, he called his crew and asked for medical aid for a 'shot'. He also missed the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina due to illness and hospitalisation. Following this, his family's statement about his sudden passing left everyone shocked to the core.

For the unversed, Kyle Busch won the 2026 Ecosave 200 at Dover Motor Speedway on May 15, 2026. And it was after the win that Kyle made a comment, which is now simply haunting after his passing. What appeared to his fans as a comment from a veteran has now hit the fans of Kyle with a sharper stroke. After his win, Kyle reflected on his past and appreciated every win at the late stage of his career.

While speaking, Kyle revealed that no one knows what is going to be the last one for someone. This particular line from his statement keeps haunting the fans of the legend and the entire NASCAR world. He further loved the audience in Dover. He was quoted as saying:
"Because you never know when the last one is, you know? I know all too well, unfortunately, with the Cup stuff, but here with the truck stuff, right now, it's awesome just to be a part of Spire Motorsports. Love coming to Dover, always one of my favorite places to race. Thanks to all the fans, appreciate everybody for being here at Dover, and the Monster Mile for All-Star Weekend. We thank you."

Kyle was married to Samantha Busch. The couple got married in 2010, and it was five years later, in 2015, when they welcomed their son, Brexton Locke Busch, who is already following in his father's footsteps by taking part in a junior racing series. Kyle was the one to coach him during his early days when he started his career. Seven years after their son's birth, Kyle and Samantha welcomed their daughter, Lennix Key Busch, through surrogacy, after their battle with infertility.
