Bahu Humari Rajni Kant fame, Ridhima Pandit froze her eggs in September 2022. For the unversed, the popular actress was also seen in many TV shows including, Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, Haiwaan and others. Apart from her on-screen performances, she is also loved for her bold decisions and social media banter. Now, she opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs and revealed that she had to take hormonal injections. She also mentioned the reduction in marriage pressure due to this.
In an interview with the ETimes, Ridhima Pandit mentioned that the process of egg freezing was in her mind for a long period of time. However, it was only in September 2022, that she finally took the plunge and underwent the process. The actress managed to freeze her eggs as she got the time to prepare and recuperate from it, amidst her assignments. She said:
“I feel liberated. Freezing eggs was on my mind for a long time, and it seemed right to go ahead with it in September, as I had a month to spare between my assignments. It was a perfect window to prepare for and recuperate from it. I had the best of doctors guiding me through the procedure.”

In the same conversation, Ridhima was asked about her family's reaction to her decision to freeze her eggs. To this, she immediately mentioned that her family is extremely progressive. Ridhima also mentioned that when she discussed it with her late mother, how she was extremely supportive of her decision. Talking about the same, she added:
“My family is extremely progressive and more so my mother. I remember discussing the topic with her. When I asked her if I didn’t wish to get married, didn’t find the right person, or was focused on work but yearned to have a child, would she be fine with me preparing for it in advance and she replied, ‘Of course, just go for it and I hope you can inspire people with it.’ I am proud of my decision because so many friends are going in for this procedure.”
Further, Ridhima mentioned how she believes in the institution of marriage and would definitely take the plunge in future. For the unversed, Ridhima was earlier in an alleged relationship with her Hum – I'm Because of Us co-contestant, Kushal Tandon. However, they had never admitted to the reports of their dating, and in 2019, the two reportedly unfollowed each other on social media, adding fuel to their breakup rumours. Now, in the same conversation Ridhima mentioned that since she is single right now, she doesn't want to regret it later. Thus, elaborating how freezing eggs eased the marriage pressure on her, the actress was quoted as saying:
“I don’t have a partner right now. So, it felt right to go ahead with this instead of regretting it later. The most important reason is the limited fertility period of a woman. And I don’t have to feel pressured to get married to have a child. Of course, I would like to conceive naturally, too. But God forbid, if that doesn’t happen, then I have this option. I believe in marriage as an institution and would like to take the plunge someday. My 93-year-old grandmother is obsessed with me getting married (laughs!). She was in disbelief when I told her about the procedure but appreciated the medical advancement and me for taking this step.”

At the end of the conversation, Ridhima also talked about the vitamin supplements and hormonal injections she had to take to undergo the procedure. However, maintaining how she had to be mindful of her diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle, she concluded:
“I had to pop vitamin pills for a few months and hormonal injections for about 10 days before the procedure. It was a bit overwhelming on the final day when I had to take five shots together, but I knew everything was worth it. It took me over a week to bounce back to my regular life and routine.”
