Popular actor and politician, Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju a.k.a., Krishnam Raju is no longer with us after he passed away on September 11, 2022. Known as the Rebel Star, he has always chosen characters, who were quite rebellious in nature and required a rebellious approach. From doing more than 183 films to lifting the inaugural Nandi Award for Best Actor, Krishnam Raju was indeed an iconic actor in South Indian cinema. As soon as the news of his demise broke on the internet, fans and celebrities dropped their deepest condolences on different social media platforms.

Some of his most famous films are Jeevana Tarangalu, Bhakta Kannappa, Sati Savitri, Rangoon Rowdy, Sita Ramulu, Palnati Pourusham, and the list goes on. For the unversed, After working in South Indian cinema for decades, it was in the late 1990s, when Krishnam had entered into politics after joining BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). During his political stint, he had served as a Member of Parliament and Union Minister.

Not everyone is aware of the fact that Krishnam Raju was famous South Indian actor, Prabhas' uncle. The doting nephew was seen crying inconsolably in a video that is doing rounds on the internet. From mentoring Prabhas at different stages of his life, both professionally and personally, to producing some of his films, their bond was simply pure and beautiful. The impact of Krishnam on Prabhas' life was so massive that he couldn't control his tears and was seen emotionally exhausted at the former's residence.

Many popular celebs like Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Vijay Deverakonda, Chiranjeevi, and many were seen at Krishnam's residence to offer their respects to the late actor. Mahesh Babu was also seen at the place and was consoling Prabhas at this heartbreaking moment. Talking about Krishnam Raju's cause of death, the veteran actor had passed away at the age of 83 due to post-COVID-19 complications.

After his demise, the honourable Prime Minister of India took to his official Twitter handle and penned some kind and warm words in the memory of the late actor. The PM praised the actor for his immense contribution to South Indian cinema and called him an inspiration for generations to come. Narendra Modi also praised him for always serving society as a politician. The tweet can be read as:

"Saddened by the passing away of Shri UV Krishnam Raju Garu. The coming generations will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the forefront of community service and made a mark as a political leader. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

Not only this, the Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao also highlighted the role Krishnam Raju played in lifting the South cinema a notch higher. In his statement to the media, the CM praised the actor for his unique style of acting in his films, which has inspired many actors in recent decades. He said:

"Death of Krishnam Raju, who acted as a hero in many films during his fifty-year career and won the hearts of moviegoers as a 'rebel star' with his unique acting style is a great loss for the Telugu silver screen."
