Kirsten Storms is best known for her work in the hit series, General Hospital. At present, though, it seems Kristen has no plans to return to the show anytime soon. For those unaware, this is due to ongoing issues with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash.
On Sunday night, June 7, 2026, Kirsten Storms took to her Instagram handle to share a lengthy statement in a carousel post. In the post, the actress opened up about the ongoing drama in her life and addressed the recent restraining order by her ex-husband, Brandon Barash, for the first time. She started by writing that, while the topic was very difficult for her to address, she is sure that many have read online stories about something Brandon is trying to claim. Well, Brandon had obtained a restraining order against her over concerns about her mental health.

The drama had essentially begun a couple of months after Kirsten left General Hospital in the middle of 2025 to “take a break” and move to Tennessee with her family. She claimed that taking a break from General Hospital was a “leap of faith” to improve her quality of life as a single mother, especially after she found out that she had a brain aneurysm. In her post, the actress wrote:
“Given what's been going on, I can't say I feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work. This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession.”

According to reports, in the court documents that Brandon had filed, he claimed that Kirsten had been bouncing around from friends' homes to apartments. He believed that she was suffering from mental health issues and even claimed that Kirsten had experienced delusions and hallucinations. According to him, it was his ex-wife herself who told him the same during a phone call. Because of this, his biggest concern was about their 12-year-old daughter's well-being, and he thought that it was best to have her full-time until Kirsten got help. At present, the court has granted Brandon a temporary restraining order, allowing Kirsten to visit under supervision.

In the court order, Brandon had further revealed that Kirsten had called him in November 2025 about people breaking into her apartment. She told him that people were trying to “mess with her” by removing items and putting them in her car. Kirsten argued in the post that she was not hallucinating about this and that the break-ins were real, with those people having gained access to her Wi-Fi and cellphone. She also revealed that she had reported them before the restraining order was issued. To make her point more believable, Kirsten told everyone to refer to her previous post, which showcased the damage that was done to her apartment's door lock. She wrote:

“I took that photo in August of last year – months before Brandon filed anything in court. I was also speaking with the people who worked in the leasing office of the building (in person and via email), attempting to get answers on the damage to my door and wanting to know about locating building camera footage. This communication also started the first week of August. I waited to post about the break-in on my Instagram for a few months. I had already moved out of the building, and honestly, it’s been something that is difficult to accept, happened pretty much as soon as I moved out here.”
