General Hospital star, Kirsten Storms is currently making immense buzz online, not for her acting roles but for a personal controversy. As of April 27, 2026, Kirsten is involved in a high-profile legal and personal dispute with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash, who was recently granted an emergency restraining order against her. The court ruling was reportedly based on concerns regarding her mental health and her ability to care for their preteen daughter. According to reports by TMZ and Michael Fairman TV, Brandon's case filing included claims of her suffering from hallucinations.
The filing further stated that since Kirsten moved to Tennessee, she allegedly struggled to maintain a permanent residence, moving frequently between hotels due to delusional beliefs that someone was stalking her. The document also mentioned the repossession of her car and her pending repayment of a USD 5,000 loan she took out from him. Under the current order, she is only allowed to visit her daughter under supervision following a mental health evaluation. Here's all about her happy family life with Brandon and their kid before things went downhill.

Kirsten and Brandon first met in 2007 when he joined the cast of General Hospital. She starred as 'Maxie Jones', and he played 'Johnny Zacchara' in the popular medical series. The duo quickly grew close, shared a "platonic" bond, and frequently hung out outside of work. During a 2022 episode of the State of Mind podcast, she recalled that they would often stay over at each other's houses and go to karaoke bars before developing romantic feelings. After years of staying "good friends", they officially started dating in 2013. Recalling that, she stated:
"We have a history with each other of being good friends, like, he would crash at my house if we would go out and do karaoke. It was completely platonic [and we] never hooked up...[We ultimately] reached a point in both of our lives where [a relationship] just worked out."
Kirsten and Brandon's closeness on set sparked curiosity regarding their real-life relationship. They, however, kept their relationship hush-hush until they tied the knot. Notably, the duo, who shared a bond of friendship for five long years, had a very hasty dating phase. Their whirlwind romance of months quickly transitioned into marriage. The former couple walked down the aisle in June 2013. It was only after their wedding news broke that their fans finally learned of their secret relationship. They kept the details of the marriage private until their conversation with PEOPLE in 2020.
Kirsten and Brandon held an impromptu wedding at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada after learning of their pregnancy. The duo walked through the streets of Los Angeles when it occurred to them that his parents were in Las Vegas for their personal endeavours. It was then that they suddenly decided to "go to Vegas and get married". A day later, Brandon proposed to Kirsten with a blue raspberry Ring Pop in hand at a gas station in Wrightwood, California, and they had planned their wedding ceremony. The next day itself, they became man and wife. He stated:
"It was nothing short of a dream wedding. There were about 10 of us in a chapel that seated 200 comfortably, and it was perfect. All I remember was my face feeling like Niagara Falls, stomping on the glass...It was magic, and we wouldn't have had it any other way."

Kirsten and Brandon's only child, daughter, Harper Rose Barash, was born in January 2015, seven months after their marriage. Kirsten was 29, and Brandon was 33 at the time. However, their happy family life didn't last long, and in April 2016, the pair announced their decision to divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." They emphasised that they tried therapy to bridge their communication gap and improve their relationship. However, it proved to be, and they split amicably. Despite the divorce, they remained close friends and committed to co-parenting. Kirsten reportedly even stated that her relationship with Brandon improved after they were freed from the bonds of marriage.
In mid-2025, Kirsten relocated to Nashville with her daughter, Harper to be closer to her best friend. Brandon then moved to Tennessee as well for smooth co-parenting. Shortly after, Brandon noticed that Kirsten's mental condition was deteriorating, and it could affect their child, who is 12 years old as of April 2026. It was then that he filed a restraining order against her. In May 2025, he claimed that Kirsten was experiencing "delusions and hallucinations" and didn't have a permanent residence from September 2024 to June 2025. As of April 2026, the court kept these pointers in mind and ruled in favour of Brandon.
