Siya Goyal's Brother, Sahil Faces Rs. 10 Crore Notice After Comment On Sister's Legal Representation

Ketan Agarwal's murder case has left everyone stunned. While the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary has been extended, a shocking revelation in the ongoing case has shifted attention from the investigation to the legal proceedings. In a turn of events, Advocate Ashutosh Srivastava has filed a Rs. 10 crore notice against Siya's brother, Sahil Goyal.

The legal proceedings of Ketan Agarwal's murder case have come into focus after Advocate Ashutosh Srivastava filed a Rs. 10 crore defamation suit against Siya Goyal's brother, Sahil Goyal. The major twist came after the court extended Siya's remand until July 3, 2026. Amid that, Advocate Srivastava, who had initially appeared for Siya as her lawyer, has now filed a suit against her brother, Sahil, seeking Rs. 10 crore in damages. According to reports, the lawyer sent Sahil the legal notice after he introduced Vipul Dushing as Siya's representative instead of Ashutosh.

The notice alleges that Sahil Goyal made false, baseless, defamatory, and misleading allegations against him, damaging his professional reputation. The notice demanded that Sahil issue a public apology to Advocate Ashutosh Srivastava and retract his statement about him. Meanwhile, Advocate Ashutosh Srivastava alleged that his team had reached out to Siya and the accused had even signed a power of attorney naming them her legal representative. The statement could be read as:

"Our team reached out to Siya Goyal. She needed our legal assistance, so she signed a power of attorney naming us. Siya Goyal is an adult and capable of making her own decisions. Sahil Goyal's statement is false, as we spoke directly to Siya Goyal, not him. Siya has filed a power of attorney in our favour even in the Mumbai High Court. Siya's signature is present on the power of attorney."

What did Sahil Goyal say about advocate Ashutosh Srivastava?

The hearing in the Ketan Agarwal murder case is taking place in the Vadgaon Maval court. During the hearing, Siya Goyal stated that her lawyer was Vipul Dushing and not Ashutosh Srivastava. The change came a day after Sahil Goyal told the media they were having issues with Siya's legal representation. Sahil claimed that he had never hired him and had never spoken to him about the matter.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, at the request of Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, appointed Ujjwal Nikam as the public prosecutor. For the unversed, Ujjwal Nikam was the prosecutor who secured the hanging of terrorist Ajmal Kasab in the Mumbai attacks. In a conversation with ANI, Siya Goyal's brother, Sahil Goyal, denied ever hiring Srivastava. He was quoted as saying:

"We have never hired him (Advocate Aashutosh Srivastava), and he is not someone that we have hired from our family. I know nothing about what he is claiming."

Additionally, the investigation into Ketan Agarwal's death case has also seen some developments. It was on June 28, 2026, when the Pune Rural Police took Siya Goyal to Lohagad Fort to recreate the events of June 18, 2026. The police took notes of the incident that led to the death of her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal. According to investigators, Siya has allegedly demonstrated how she signalled to the co-accused, Chetan Chaudhary, by sitting down, either pretending to drink water or tie her shoelaces, before the latter allegedly pushed Agarwal off the cliff.
