What's not to love about the earthy smell of the ground, drops on the windowpane, wind in the hair and romance in the air? That's what rain does to us! Every time it rains, there are a plethora of Bollywood songs that run in our heads but the one that tops the list is, Pyar Hua Iqrar Hua which perfectly blends in the mood of romance with the weather. No mention of the Hindi film industry can be complete without speaking about the greatest showman of Bollywood, Raj Kapoor. He had made his debut in the film industry during its formative years and over time with his progressive films, he had taken the entertainment world to a great height. It was on June 2, 1988, when Raj Kapoor had taken his last breath but even today, and for every generation, he was, is and will always be ‘the greatest showman of Hindi cinema’.
Irrespective of how old we are and no matter how much time we have spent with them, memories with grandparents remain in our hearts forever. And just as much joy we get while spending time with our grandparents, we love revisiting those memories every now and then. Karisma Kapoor too, went on a nostalgic trip as she misses her ‘handsome dadaji’, Raj Kapoor. Sharing a rare picture of her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, Karisma captioned it as "Our handsome Dadaji #grandfather #familylove #rajkapoor #legend." Karisma's cousin, Armaan Jain commented on the post, "Absolute stud Nanaji."
Hailing from the legendary Kapoor lineage, Karisma Kapoor had broken the norms of her family and made her name in the Bollywood industry, proving to be a ‘No. 1’ heroine of all times! In her Humans of Bombay post, Karisma had revealed how her grandfather, Raj Kapoor had reacted when she had told him that she wanted to be an actress and his golden advice which stayed with her forever. Karisma had said, "Growing up, I used to visit my granddad on set—& his talent would leave me mesmerised. Once I was there when he was directing ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. I loved the sets, camera & lights! I knew I wanted to become an actor & contribute to the family legacy. When I told my granddad, he said, ‘It’s glamourous but it’s not a bed of roses—you will have to work very hard.’ That stayed with me." While Karisma Kapoor had made her debut with Prem Qaidi in 1991, in the same year, another film, Henna directed by her grandfather, Raj Kapoor was released and not everyone knows that she had wanted to act in that film. Karisma had wanted to be a part of her grandfather's film but the lead hero of the romantic-drama film was none other than her chacha, Rishi Kapoor. So Karisma had to let go of her dream as her, romancing Rishi Kapoor would have led to multiple gossips about a niece working with her uncle which would not have proved right for both the actors. Post Raj Kapoor's demise, the film was directed by Karisma's father, Randhir Kapoor.
On April 4, 2020, Karisma Kapoor had posted a throwback picture with her grandparents, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor, her sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her cousins, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor. Karisma had captioned it, “Family matters. #grandparents #cousins #family #love @kareenakapoorkhan @riddhimakapoorsahniofficial #ranbirkapoor #flashbackfriday." Soon after, Kareena Kapoor Khan also reposted the same pictures and highlighted the OG posers of Kapoor clan. Kareena had captioned the picture as "We've discovered the OG posers of the Kapoor family."
The Kapoor family is famed for their love for good food and in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Randhir Kapoor had spoken about the same. Revealing everyone's favourite dishes, Randhir Kapoor had said, "My grandfather (Prithviraj Kapoor) and father’s (Raj Kapoor) favourite dish was Yakhni Pulao. My daughter Karisma loves Fish Curry and rice while Kareena loves all kinds of cuisines, but has turned vegetarian for the last couple of years. She is very fond of Chinese food. In fact, all of us share a preference for Chinese food though Rishi Kapoor also likes Japanese."
