Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s relationship has been one of the most-talked about gossip in the B-Town. Though the duo never made it to the aisle, however, their relationship with one another even after their breakup is something that has always grabbed eyeballs.

Well, while the duo might have ended their relationship, there was a time when the duo still after their breakup had some feelings intact for one another. And for this very reason, Shahid considered his former ladylove, Kareena to be the first person in the industry to know about his wedding. Way back before actually tying the knot with Mira Rajput, Shahid had informed Kareena about moving on in life and getting married. In an interview with Miss Malini, Kareena once opened up about the same and recalled:
“Both of us were performing at a Femina event. We chatted. So, he actually told me about him getting married before he told the media. I’m very happy for him. He’s doing very well professionally… I haven’t seen Haider yet, but my sister saw it and loved it. And I can vouch for marriage being cool. I’d just like to wish him well.”
Keeping in mind Shahid Kapoor’s past relationship with Kareena Kapoor, one may think that there would be an awkward situation when former would meet Kareena’s husband, Saif Ali Khan. However, it was completely the opposite in reality. In the very same year when Shahid Kapoor finally announced getting married to Mira Rajput, he came face-to-face with Saif at a common event and the duo’s bonding was everything else apart from awkward. Moreover, Saif even congratulated Shahid for his then-impending nuptials. A source who was present at the event recalled their meeting and had mentioned:
“Shahid and Saif did bump into each other. But surprisingly there was no awkwardness whatsoever. In fact, Saif congratulated him on the wedding news and wished him luck.”

Even years later, Saif and Shahid are often made to face the media while answering questions about Kareena Kapoor. Something similar happened when the duo graced the controversial celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan. When the host, Karan Johar asked them about having any awkwardness while shooting for their film, Rangoon, the two of them simply dodged the question and instead began to speak and congratulate one another on becoming parents.
Bidding farewell to the past, Shahid Kapoor is happily married to Mira Rajput and the couple is proud parents to their kids, Misha and Zain. In an interview with ETimes, Shahid once spilt beans behind the reason for keeping a happy marriage, and revealed how he simply ensures to fulfil his kid’s demands. Highlighting the importance of keeping a work-life balance, he mentioned:
“Oh, they make sure I spend enough time with them. My children demand my time. And I am a slave to their demands.”
