On celebrity chat show Starry Nights 2. OH, Kareena Kapoor Khan appeared with her BFF, Amrita Arora Ladak, and was asked about dating advice for Sara Ali Khan. To this, Kareena had replied, "Don't date your first hero."
Coming to two films old, Sara Ali Khan’s dating life, she has expressed her wish to date her crush, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety star, Kartik Aaryan. But the news that she is secretly dating her Kedarnath co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput made it to the headlines recently when she had cut her trip short to be with him on his birthday. According to a source quoted by India Today, "She dropped by his apartment at night with a cake, and they went on for dinner together after that. Sushant then dropped Sara home, and they snuck in some quality time together."
Sara Ali Khan made her debut on Koffee With Karan with her father, Saif Ali Khan, wherein she confessed her crush on Kartik Aaryan and shared that she wants to go on a date with him. When Kartik appeared on the Koffee couch, Karan Johar asked him, "An exciting thing that happened Kartik is Sara Ali Khan came on my couch and said that she wanted to date you. What is the follow-up on that? What's the status? Are you interested in Sara Ali Khan?" To which, Kartik sat there with a blushing look and replied, “So, what I'm doing is, sir, I'm just trying to, you know, earn more and more money right now. Saif (Ali Khan) sir said, 'Does he have the money?' So, I'm just..." Karan probed, “And, you clearly don't have the money that can match the Prince of Pataudi.” Kartik answered, “I don't know. She is a princess. So, you know, to ask her out on a date, you know, I would require a certain bank balance.”
Coming back to Sara Ali Khan’s relationship with her step-mother, Kareena Kapoor Khan, their bond is contradictory to the perception set on-screen. Sara Ali Khan is a self-proclaimed Poo (Kareena’s character from the film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...) fan. During her interview on Famously Filmfare, Sara could not control her excitement over having Poo a.k.a. Bebo as her stepmother. In a short clip from the interview, Sara asked the interviewer to say it again that ‘Poo is your stepmother.’ Sara gushed with a big laugh, “Can you imagine! Say that again!... Yaa!! I do.” She continued, “People tell me you’ve willed this to happen. You have been such a die-hard Kareena fan that you have willed her into your life and this is what you get.”
Joking about how Kareena would react if she addressed her as ‘Choti Maa’, Sara shared on Koffee With Karan, “You know I feel that everyone has been very clear with me vis-a-vis the equations. It's never been confusing. Kareena herself was saying and she still says that look "you have a mother and you have a great mother at that and what I want is for us to be able to be friends.” My father also never said, "This is your second mother" or made it anyway uncomfortable. I think Kareena would have a nervous breakdown if I was to call her ‘choti maa’. And she will be like What? No.”
Elaborating on their relationship, Kareena shared in an interview with Miss Malini, “I have always said that we are friends more than anything else. That’s the most important. We respect each other. I think it’s the start of a beautiful journey ahead for her in this industry because I saw Kedarnath and I genuinely feel she has the best of both her parents and you know, I can never be her mother because that’s not what I am to her.
