Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath were friends when they were in college and got close to each other when they had participated in Star One’s show, Hans Baliye. Ginni stood like a rock for Kapil during his low phases, making their bond even more special. The two got married on December 12, 2018, and two days before their first anniversary, they had welcomed their first child, a baby girl, Anayra. On February 1, 2021, Kapil had announced the birth of their second child, a baby boy named Trishaan.
Kapil might be seen flirting with many actresses, but his heart beats only for Ginni and he ensures her happiness above all. In 2017, on the occasion of Ginni Chatrath’s birthday on November 18, Kapil Sharma had planned a grand celebration for his ladylove. His teammate from The Kapil Sharma Show, Bharti Singh had posted the birthday celebration pictures and videos on her Instagram Stories.
As Ginni Chatrath turned 32, Kapil Sharma is leaving no chance to make her day extra special. On his IG stories, Kapil shared glimpses from Ginni’s mid-night birthday party. Well, Kapil not just arranged for one cake, but he got Ginni six cakes. Yes, the five cakes had Ginni’s name's initials on them and the sixth one was a chocolate cake. Sharing a glimpse of the same on his IG stories, Kapil wrote, “Happy Birthday my friend, my wife, my love" atop it. Not just this, Kapil has arranged a beautiful turquoise-gold cake for Ginni for the day celebrations. Check out:
Talking about Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath’s love story, in an interview with The Times Of India, the comedian had recalled the same and had said:
“She studied in HMV College (Jalandhar). I was a scholarship holder, as I was a national winner in theatre. I was a student at APJ College and in order to make some pocket money, I started directing plays. I went to audition students at her college and that’s how we met in 2005. She was 19 then and I was 24. I was tired of taking auditions and explaining the role to the girls. Ginni was so good that I was quite impressed with her and told her to audition the girls for me. As we started the rehearsals, she started bringing food for me. Back then, I thought that she was doing it out of respect.”
Talking about his marriage proposal and how Ginni’s father had once rejected him, Kapil had shared:
“When I started earning well, my mother took my marriage proposal to her family, which got rejected. Inke papaji ne bade pyaar se bola, ‘Shut up’ (laughs!). Thereafter, I got busy with work, while she pursued MBA in finance. I guess, she kept studying to avoid marriage proposals. At that time, I was settled in Mumbai, and so much was happening in my life. I then realised ki itna kuchh hua hai, but isne kabhi mujhe disturb nahi kiya. Itna patience kisi mein nahi dekha maine. Jab ye sab gadbad chal rahi thi, that’s when I decided that it was the right time to marry. It was my decision, because ye toh padhai kare hi jaa rahi thi (laughs!). So, on December 24, 2016, I called and told Ginni that I wanted to marry her. My mother has always been fond of her.”
Happiest birthday, Ginni Chatrath!
