While a newborn baby requires attention and care from his/her parents, most organisations allow their female employees to take maternity leaves but the paternity leaves don’t get much preference. Kapil Sharma entered the husband’s club when he had tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart, Ginni Chatrath in December 2018. As Kapil and Ginni were to complete one year of marital bliss, God blessed them with the best gift of their lives. Kapil and Ginni had embraced parenthood two days before their first wedding anniversary and became proud parents to a baby girl. Since then, we have been eagerly waiting for the star couple to share glimpses of their newborn angel. While we’ll have to wait for the first glimpse of junior Sharma-Chatrath, Kapil makes sure to reveal some updates about his fatherhood phase.
Before we share the same with you, let us tell you how the newbie daddy, Kapil Sharma made sure to be there for his wife, Ginni Chatrath and their daughter. If a Times Of India report is to be believed, Kapil had taken a paternity break for 15 days after his wife, Ginni delivered their daughter. The reports also stated that Kapil had shot back-to-back episodes beforehand, so that he could spend time with Ginni and their baby soon after the little one’s birth. Kapil shared an Instagram story from the first day of their shoot from the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show.
Kapil Sharma’s self-proclaimed reel-life crush, Deepika Padukone went on The Kapil Sharma Show for the promotions of her film, Chhapaak. The episode was shot just a few days after Kapil became a father in December and Deepika was the first one to get a glimpse of his newborn angel. Bollywood's famous paparazzi, Viral Bhayani had posted a picture of Deepika and in the caption wrote, "Did #kapilsharma show his new Princess to #deepikapadukone today? I'm sure he must have shown her the picture from his phone." To which, Deepika had replied, "he did! & she’s adorable!" followed by a heart-eyed emoji. Sometime back, a behind-the-scene picture of Deepika and Kapil went viral which gave a glimpse of her reaction when he had showed her his daughter’s photo.
It was on December 10, 2019, when Kapil Sharma had announced the good news of his baby girl’s arrival and had tweeted, “Blessed to have a baby girl need ur blessings love u all jai mata di”. Soon congratulatory messages had begun to flood his social media handle and when contacted by The Indian Express, the elated daddy had updated about the newbie mommy and their newborn daughter. Kapil had remarked, “I feel blessed and happy to have a little princess in my life. Both Ginni and the baby are doing well. Kapil Sharma’s close friend and former director of Comedy Nights With Kapil, Rajiv Dhingra had also embraced fatherhood a week before Kapil. Rajiv’s wife and Ginni Chatrath were admitted in the same hospital. Speaking about the same in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Rajiv had shared, “Our rooms are next to each other. Ginni had a natural delivery, while my wife went through a C-section. Kapil was a bit stressed on Monday night, but everyone is really happy now.”
Sharing his excitement of becoming a father and how he is not sure if he can hold his baby girl because of cold and cough, the newbie daddy, Kapil Sharma had stated in a Bombay Times interview, “I am ecstatic. I haven’t slept in two days. I am suffering from a bad cold and cough. So, I am not even sure whether I can hold my baby. The feeling is beyond words. Ginni and I always wanted a girl and we are happy that we’ve been blessed with one. We can’t thank God enough for our beautiful angel.”
Earlier confirming his wife, Ginni Chatrath’s pregnancy, Kapil Sharma had revealed that apart from them, it was his mother who's most excited for the baby as she had been waiting for this moment for years now. When asked how is the Sharma-Chatrath family preparing to welcome the baby, Kapil had shared that there are no preparations going on as they don’t know if it would be a boy or a girl. Everyone was just happily and eagerly looking forward to welcome the new member in the family. Kapil had hosted an extravagant baby shower for his heavily pregnant wife, Ginni and the star wife was spotted radiating ounces of pregnancy glow in her pink gown, floral tiara and a diamond neckpiece.
