Being surrounded amidst rumours and speculations is a part and parcel of being in the showbiz world or being a public figure. You never know the next morning you might wake up to a piece of news related to you that is a baseless rumour. The comedy king of the Indian television industry, Kapil Sharma and his beautiful wifey, Ginni Chatrath have been in the news for past one week and rumours have it that the two are expecting their first baby in 2019.
Only sources and reports have stated that Kapil is going to become a father soon, but neither he nor Ginni has come on-record to accept or deny the reports. While people were just digesting the news or pondering over the same, there comes the weekend when Kapil Sharma comes with his comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show. As it is said that when a hot top is doing the rounds, anything related to same might grab the attention and raise eyebrows. Similarly, amidst Ginni’s pregnancy news, the last episode of TKSS got all the attention. On May 26, 2019, telecast of The Kapil Sharma Show had legendary singer, Usha Uthup as the celeb guest. Whenever the show is aired, it showcases behind the scenes before the start of the episode. In the same episode’s ‘behind the scenes’, Kapil could be seen saying, “Yeh kaun hai itna chota bacha? Dekho kitni choti and pyari audience ayi hai.” To which, Usha ji instantly says, “Is that yours? Not yours na?” To which, he gave a funny reply by saying, “Nahin mera abhi kahan, abhi bhi 9 mahine to lagte hain.” And then, he can be seen playing with the little baby. Recently, rumours have been rife that Kapil and Ginni are expecting their first baby together in 2019. Later, as per a Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the couple had shared with them, “They got the good news just a few days ago, Ginni’s due date is in December. Kapil has been busy with the shoot of his eponymous comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, but he has now scheduled his shoot in a way that he gets to spend more with her. She too has been accompanying him on the shoot so they can spend time together. His colleagues ensure that she is well looked after on the set. At home, Kapil’s mother is taking care of her. In an interview with the Hindustan Times before his wedding, Kapil had jovially stated, “Maine shaadi rokne ki bahut koshish ki, par kuch nahin hua (laughs). Jokes apart, I am ecstatic to be with Ginni and I know this marriage will be a huge change in my life. Discipline aayega. She takes good care of me and is a huge support in my life. People like me are surrounded by many people at work or events or otherwise, but when you come home, ghar khali lagta hai”. Talking about how his mother is relaxed as Ginni is a part of their family, Kapil had once told a leading portal, “My mom is very happy currently. She used to worry a lot about me earlier especially because she used to stay a lot in Amritsar. She used to speak to me when any gossip and rumours used to be out. But now she is happy. After Ginni has come in our family, my mother spends more time with her. Sometimes, I feel they share a deeper bond and tuning than me. Ginni loves my mother a lot and via versa.”
Further, he went on to share how Ginni has brought luck in his life and how life has changed post marriage, Kapil had retorted, “I believe in this completely. There are so many responsibilities on both professional and personal front which now Ginni takes care of, so I don't have to worry so much. She loves me a lot and makes sure that I keep a track of my health, which I had neglected for some time. I have started eating on the dining table. There is a lot of discipline in my life now, I think.”
In an interaction once Kapil had shared how he once directly asked Ginni if she likes him. Reminiscing the same, he had once told, “My friend told me that Ginni likes me, but I rubbished him. One day, I directly asked Ginni, ‘Tu mujhe like toh nahi karti?’ and she denied. Later, at a youth festival, I introduced her to my mother as one of my students."
Kapil Sharma had further stated, “Then I came to Mumbai for the 'Laughter Challenge' audition and by then, I had also appeared on a Punjabi TV channel. Ginni was impressed with me because I was studying and working at such a young age. When I got rejected for 'Laughter Challenge', I called her and said, ‘Please don’t call me’. I felt that our friendship has no future, as her financial condition was better and we belonged to different castes. So, we took a break. When I got selected for Laughter Challenge after auditioning again, she called to congratulate me."
