Kanika Maheshwari is one of the most popular faces in Indian Television, and has risen to fame with her stint in serials like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat, Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi, Diya Aur Baati Hum among others. In her personal life, the actress got married to her businessman beau, Ankur Ghai in January 2012. Later, the duo was blessed with a son in April 2015. And now, there are several reports about Kanika, which hint at everything not being alright in her personal life.
According to the latest report by ETimes, Kanika Maheshwari is heading towards a divorce from her husband, Ankur Ghai. The duo have been married for eleven years now. A source close to the couple revealed that the two of them have been living separately for over four years now, during which they tried to resolve their compatibility issues multiple times. For the unversed, while Kanika resides in Mumbai with her 8-year-old son, Ankur stays in Delhi. However, everything didn’t fall back into place once again, leading to Kanika and Ankur filing for divorce. The couple will be granted a formal divorce by next year.

While Kanika hasn’t reacted to the speculations about her divorce yet, it is her husband, Ankur Ghai who denied the whole fiasco about his personal life. Reaching out to the media, Ankur in his statement denied it all and stated how these were baseless. Moreover, he emphasised that they weren’t separated and were instead in a long-distance relationship. In his words:
“No no, these are just rumors, and they keep doing the rounds because we are in a long-distance marriage. I live in Delhi due to my work, while Kanika is in Mumbai. We haven’t separated."
In one of her previous interviews with ETimes, right before her wedding in 2012, Kanika opened up about her love story with Ankur and added that they knew each other from their college days. However, despite knowing one another personally, they added that theirs was an arranged-cum-love marriage. Moreover, speaking about her work post marriage, the diva complemented her hubby and her in-laws for being very cooperative about her career scope.

While their personal lives have gathered the spotlight recently, nevertheless, Kanika and Ankur have been doting parents to their son, Riyansh. While the latter resides with his mommy in Mumbai, nevertheless, the sweet family of three often catch up on spending some special moments together.
