Kangana Ranaut is a phenomenal actress in Bollywood. Over the years, she has won hearts with her stellar performances in films, including Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Life in a… Metro, Fashion, Queen and more. It is worth mentioning that the actor-turned-politician never shied away from speaking her mind. Filmmaker, Karan Johar and Kangana’s feud was once the talk of the town. In fact, her shocking allegations about Karan on the show, Koffee with Karan, made headlines. In a recent interview, the Queen actress revisited the controversial KWK episode featuring her.
In a recent interview with ANI, Kangana Ranaut shared that there was a time when she wanted to fit in. But now she understands her individuality and thus doesn’t want to fit in. Revisiting the controversial 2017 episode of Koffee with Karan, Kangana mentioned that in the earlier episodes of the show, Karan Johar made fun of her face and clothes. He also mocked her for her poor English. Kangana highlighted that she had worked with KJo, where she was given a sidelined role. She was quoted as saying:
"Kya hota hai na jaise maine aapko kaha ki ek waqt hota hai jab aapko lagta hai ki you want to fit in. Aur ek waqt hai when you are standing out. You are already standing out, so why do you want to fit in then? People who kept dismissing me. Aapne woh show toh dekha par lekin usse pahle show mein unhone mere muh pe, mere kapdo ka mazaak udaya, meri English ka mazaak udaya. Maine unke saath ek film bhi ki thi jisme jo kahani thi usme mujhe ekdum hi alag side mein waala role de diya."

In the same interview, Kangana Ranaut shared that her experiences taught her how to deal with people. She mentioned that there was a time when she wanted to adjust and get along with people. However, she found that the efforts were one-sided. That’s when she stopped pretending to be good to those people. She revealed that she doesn’t owe industry insiders for her success. She explained that a group of industry insiders tried to malign her image and more. She was quoted as saying:
"Ek hadh tak aapko lagta hai ki humein sabke saath, mil jul kar chalna chaiye. Lekin jab woh ek hi tarfa humesha hota hai, aap ki prayaas jab hota hai, toh fir usme ek time aata hai ki mera ghar ye toh chala nahi rahe. Inki wajah se main successful nahi hu. Inka bas agar chale toh they will wipe me from the face of the earth, totally, you should not exist only. When that kind of situation happened toh main kyu pretend karu? Why should I pretend and make them look good?"

Further in the same interview, Kangana admitted that Karan Johar is not a bad person. She shared that Karan Johar is superficial and fun-loving, and she believed that he is kind of proud about this. She mentioned that KJo has a great sense of humour. Years after speculation surrounding their rift, Kangana added that she has no problem with Karan. She was quoted as saying:
"I don't think Karan Johar is a bad person. You know, I think he's very proudly just superficial, flaky, flashy. He likes that. He's very proud of that, and I think he has an amazing sense of humour. So I don't think I have a problem with Karan Johar as such."
