Kamya Panjabi rose to fame with her role as Sindoora Singh in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann, but more than her professional front, her personal life served as a morning gossip for the readers. For Kamya, her love life hasn’t been a bed of roses and had to go through a lot in her marriage and affairs. But finally, leaving the past behind, Kamya found love in a Delhi-based healthcare professional, Shalabh Dang. Kamya and Shalabh are so much in love that they are all set to tie the knot.
Announcing the ‘good news’ with her fans and revealing the wedding date on her Instagram handle, Kamya Panjabi wrote, “So here i m with my fav picture with my fav man announcing my fav date #10thFeb2020 Bless Us for this New Journey New Beginnings.” In an interview with the Bombay Times, Kamya confirmed her wedding date to be February 10, 2020, and the pre-wedding functions will begin from February 9, 2020. The wedding will take place in Mumbai followed by a grand reception. Another reception will take place in Delhi soon after. Coincidentally, it was in February 2019 when Shalabh and Kamya had met and a few months later, he had popped up the much-awaited question to his ladylove.
Months after making her relationship official, Kamya Panjabi spilt the beans on her wedding day, which will be an intimate affair. Kamya shared, “We will get married in a gurudwara, with only family and close friends in attendance. While the shaadi will be a family affair, the other functions will be total dhamaal. I don’t want to stand on a stage greeting the guests and receiving gifts. Mujhe apni shaadi mein naachna hai. The super-excited Kamya Panjabi further revealed her honeymoon plans, “Honestly, ekdum se (wedding) date aa gayi, which caught me off guard. I would have ideally liked it to happen a few months later, as I wanted to enjoy the feeling of going-to-be-married-soon for a little longer. However, our families, Shalabh and eventually I, too, decided that we didn’t want to wait for that long. Post our reception in Delhi, we will then leave for our honeymoon, jahaan main bikini pehenungi (laughs!). Shalabh and I are yet to zero in on a destination.”
Kamya Panjabi wanted to get married in her city and sharing how she wants to colour-coordinate with her soon-to-be husband for every function, she remarked, “Mujhe apne sheher mein hi shaadi karni thi. Besides, it seemed convenient for me, as I would have had to pack and carry a lot of stuff! I am making time for my shopping amid a hectic schedule. I would want us to be colour-coordinated at every function.”
It’s not just the couple, who is excited about the impending wedding, but Kamya Panjabi’s 10-year-old daughter, Aara, and Shalabh Dang’s 11-year-old son, Ishan, are also looking forward to the big day. Kamya stated, “My daughter keeps saying that she wants to stay in Delhi. I am clear that I don’t want either Shalabh or me to compromise on work, so I will shuttle between the two cities.
