For those who don't know, Kamya Panjabi was earlier married to a businessman, Bunty Negi. She had tied the knot in the year 2003 but within two years, the duo had filed for divorce. However, they had decided to give their marriage a second chance and it was in the year 2006 when they were blessed with a baby girl. But as the years passed by, they realised that they are not meant for each other. In the year 2013, Kamya and Bunty had gotten officially separated. And then, Kamya Panjabi found her 'Mister Perfect', Shalabh Dang, who is a Delhi-based healthcare professional. The duo tied the knot today (on February 10, 2020) and Kamya looked gorgeous in a unique red lehenga.
Kamya has been posting pictures and videos from her pre-wedding ceremonies on her Instagram handle for her millions of fans. While many showered their blessings and love on the newly-wed couple, one user posted a nasty comment and asked her why is she re-marrying despite having a 10-year-old daughter. The user wrote, "You already have 2 children so why you do it? I mean phir shadi?" That's when Kamya's best friend and television actress, Kavita Kaushik decided to lesson the troller and she wrote, "Because you get married so you have a partner/companion/best friend/soulmate.. for life! There is life beyond producing children, don't find faults in people who try to build their lives and find happiness, try to be happy for others instead of asking silly questions at such a happy time of theirs. On February 9, 2020, Kamya's family had hosted a haldi ceremony. The actress had shared pictures from the happy ceremony on her Instagram handle and it was her ten-year-old daughter, Aara, who had looked super happy in all the pictures. For the function, Kamya wore a yellow sleeveless suit. She had captioned the pictures as "#shubhmangalkasha #haldi @theglamweddingofficial @shalabhdang". On February 8, 2020, Kamya and Shalabh had gotten engaged in a Gurudwara. The actress had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared happy pictures from the beautiful day. Along with it, she had written, "#shubhmangalkasha #sagai @theglamweddingofficial @shalabhdang." She had donned a golden kurti and teamed it with a black sharara and yellow dupatta. Her look was completed with statement earrings and curly hair. On the other hand, Shalabh had opted for a blue kurta paired with white pants and matching blue bandhgala jacket.
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Kamya had shared that tying the knot again was a big decision for her. She had stated, "I will be a married woman by this time next year (laughs!). I contacted Shalabh in February after a friend told me to consult him about some health woes that I was facing. We got chatting and in a-month-and-a-half, he proposed marriage. Tying the knot again was a huge deal for me and hence, I took my time to think about it. Following a failed marriage and a few heartbreaks, I had almost turned averse to the idea of tying the knot and falling in love. In fact, there came a point when main shaadi ke khilaaf ho gayi thi.
