Kajol is one of the finest actress in Bollywood. She never shies away from mesmerising her fans with her impeccable acting chops and bubbly nature. Kajol has been grabbing all the headlines for the last few days. From her role in Lust Stories 2 to her powerpack performance as a lawyer in the series, The Trial – Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha, the actress has been the talk of the town. However, recently Kajol revealed that if her father had gotten a chance, she would have been named after a luxury car. Yes! Your read it right, Kajol's father, Shomu Mukherjee decided to name the actress after a car.
In an interview with Mashable India, Kajol shared that her father thought of naming his daughter as Mercedes and not Kajol. The actress then mentioned that thankfully her mother, Tanuja swooped in and didn't let it happen. Talking about the same, Kajol shared:
“Yeah he did, he tried very hard but my mom just gave him that look and said, ‘No!’.”

Talking about why she is named Kajol, the actress revealed a cute yet heart-touching story. She mentioned that her grandmother had a diary, wherein she used to write down her children's names, and she used to call Shomu Mukherjee 'Kajol Da', so this is from where the actress got her name. Kajol revealed:
"Actually, oddly enough, it was written in his (Shomu Mukherjee) mother’s diary. So my grandmother had a diary where she wrote all the names of her children. So she wrote all her son’s names and daughter’s names in it and she wrote down whatever she thought their children’s names would be and she used to call my father ‘Kajol da’. So, that’s how I came to be named Kajol."
For the unversed, Kajol shared a close bonding with her father while she had an unconventional relationship with her mother. Talking about her bonding with her father, Kajol shared that neither she nor her dad ever found any faults in one another, and that's how they kept blindly loving each other. For the uninformed, Kajol's father left for his heavenly abode in 2008 due to a cardiac arrest.
In the same interview, Kajol was asked if she had ever gotten a chance, whose pet she would like to be among her parents. To this, the actress shared that she would want to be her father's pet. Kajol stated that her sister is her mom's darling, but she does not have a typical mother-daughter relationship with her. While talking about her dad, Kajol stated it's like the sun rose and it set on her dad, so she would definitely like to be a papa's pet. Kajol shared:
"I think my sister is my mom’s darling. My mother and I don’t have a typical mother-daughter relationship. I think I am more like my mother’s second-in-command. That is the kind of relationship I have. As far as my dad was concerned, I thought the sun rose and set in my dad and my dad thought the same of me, so yeah definitely Papa’s pet."

In the same interview, Kajol walked down the memory lane and recalled a moment when she met SRK's son, Aryan when he was a little kid. For the unversed, Aryan Khan had made a cameo role in the movie, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, wherein he played the role of young Shah Rukh. However, while cherishing the memories, Kajol mentioned that Aryan was really cute. The actress further mentioned that SRK has some really cute babies and she has spent quite a lot of time with them. Kajol also mentioned that all of them are really wonderful kids.
