The 2001-released film, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham is undoubtedly one of the most-loved family dramas ever. Directed by Karan Johar, the film boasted of an ensemble star cast, including legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor among so many others. With time, all of these actors have moved on in their lives, and have progressed massively in both their personal and professional lives. And now, another one of them has turned over a new page of her life, and she couldn’t be happier.
Remember the pretty-looking girl who portrayed the role of the younger ‘Poo’ in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham? Well, the then-child artist, Malvika Raaj, has grown up into a beautiful diva, and has made an impeccable career in films. After her stint in the iconic Karan Johar film, she went on to become a part of other films as an adult actress in films like, Squad, Jayadev, Captain Nawab and much more.

And now, she turned a new chapter in her personal life, and got engaged to her longtime businessman beau, Pranav Bagga. Taking to her IG handle on August 4, 2023, Malvika dropped dreamy glimpses from her engagement, which took place in the highlands of Turkey. The happy couple, Malvika and Pranav twinned in exquisite white-ensembles as they posed picture-perfectly against a backdrop of hot air balloons. Along with it, she penned a heartfelt caption, which can be read as:
“Here we are, we've just begun. And after all this time, our time has come. Here we are, still goin' strong.Right here in the place where we belong #IvBeenWaitingForYou #ILoveYou.”
While many of us are aware of Malvika’s fame due to her stint in the film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, many do not know that she actually belongs from a film family. Well, Malvika is the granddaughter of eminent yesteryear actor, Jagdish Raj. Her father, Bobby Raj is a well-known producer in the Hindi film industry. Moreover, she also happens to be the niece of legendary actress, Anita Raj.

Malvika portrayed the role of ‘Pooja’, a docile younger sister, to Kajol’s character, ‘Anjali’. During the first half of the film, the audience were treated to many fond scenes between Malvika and Kajol, which are recalled even today. Speaking along the same lines, Malvika, in one of her interviews with Filmfare, recalled her childhood shooting experience with Kajol and mentioned:
“The first shot was Kajol’s entry where she yells, “Jeet gaye”. We were sitting in that halwai shop and I was getting ready. I love watching myself in the mirror. There were three boys who were always with me in the film. One of them was holding my mirror in front of me and while they were setting the shot, I kept asking the boy to hold the mirror properly. Karan liked it so much, he asked me to do that in my first shot for the film.”
