Apart from Lee Sang Yeob’s professional front, his personal life has also garnered much limelight in recent times. In September 2023, Sang Yeob announced that he would be getting married to his non-celebrity girlfriend in March 2024. After a Korean media outlet published reports of his wedding, Sang Yeob’s agency, UB Management Group, also confirmed the same.

Recently, the Hallyu actor, Lee Sang Yeob revealed details about his upcoming wedding nuptials. On January 31, 2024, his agency announced that the actor would be tying the knot on March 24, 2024, at a hotel in Jamsil, Seoul. As per a report by Koreaboo, Sang Yeob's upcoming wedding is going to be a private event, as his would-be-wife is not someone from the entertainment industry. The same report also mentioned that the wedding ceremony will be hosted by Yoo Jae Suk, who is a close friend of the actor. Moreover, Sang Yeob has personally handed over wedding invitations to his close celebrity colleagues.
When Lee Sang Yeob officially announced his marriage to his non-celebrity girlfriend in 2023, he then appeared on the show, Omniscient Interfering View, and revealed nitty gritty about his relationship. The host, Jun Hyun Moo began the questioning by asking how long the two dated before getting engaged. Sang Yeob revealed that it took them less than a year to decide to get married. He further mentioned that their relationship progressed naturally, and they went from not thinking about marriage to setting a date for their wedding. He said:
“Before we knew it, we were booking our wedding venue. And, so before we know it, we’ll be walking down the aisle. Right?”

Lee Sang Yeob further stated that he and his girlfriend decided to take their relationship to the next level because they deeply understood each other and never experienced a dull moment together. During the conversation, Lee Sang Yeob couldn't stop talking about his fiancee's amazing qualities. He praised her intelligence, logical reasoning, and excellent communication skills, which he found truly charming. He said:
“I’m comfortable when I’m with her. I feel at ease. And above all, it’s fun to spend time with her. She’s also very beautiful, to me. She’s very intelligent. Very smart. She’s younger than I am but still wise. Whenever she explains things to me, I have no trouble understanding. Even when I’m being silly, she knows how to talk me out of it. And I end up listening to her like she’s my religion.”
In 2021, the cast of the TV series, Sixth Sense was joined by a fortune teller, who claimed to be the only person in the country making predictions based on life graphs. According to the fortune teller, Lee Sang Yeob was destined to get married, and the actor immediately asked the fortune teller for the expected time of his marriage. The fortune teller informed Lee Sang Yeob that he should expect to tie the knot three years later, which is in 2024.
