Juhi Parmar is one of the most popular names in the telly world. She made her television debut in 1998 with the show, Woh. She later appeared in shows like Choodiyan, Shaheen, Ye Jeevan Hai, and Rishtey. It was in 2002 when Juhi became a household name for portraying the titular role of 'Kumkum' in the show, Kumkum-Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan. She also won the reality show, Bigg Boss season 5 in 2012.
In 2009, Juhi Parmar got married to actor, Sachin Shroff. The duo welcomed a baby girl, Samaira in 2013. However, after irreconcilable differences between Juhi and Sachin, the couple filed for a divorce in 2018 and got separated officially in the same year. Juhi was granted custody of her daughter.

Do you know that Juhi gained 15-17 kgs as she suffered from thyroid? Yes, the gorgeous actress once opened up about the same on her official YouTube channel and revealed how she was unaware of the same. Talking about the same, she stated:
“When I was diagnosed with thyroid, I had no idea what this was. Even before I could understand the condition, the symptoms of thyroid were so prominent on me. The worst was rapid weight gain. I gained 15-17 kgs in just 1-2 months, which was shocking for me. Also, this weight gain was not the usual weight gain. I had bloating, swelling, etc.”
Juhi was suffering from hypothyroidism because of which she gained a lot of weight within a span of a few months. Apart from the weight gain, Juhi’s voice also changed and became coarse. Sharing how she used to be in a foul mood always, the actress stated:
“My face had so much swelling that I had a foul mood most of the times. I felt irritated, had drastic mood swings and I felt low most of the times in a day. More than anything, I could feel the change in my voice. My voice became more coarse than it was usually. Whenever I spoke to my mother over the phone, she kept telling me to get my thyroid checked as there was a noticeable change in my voice. I went in for a blood test and got to know that I was suffering from hypothyroidism."

Juhi, who managed to shed her weight, consulted a doctor after getting her test done and has been taking tablets to control her thyroid levels. The actress also stressed taking regular blood tests every 3 to 4 months to check thyroid levels. Apart from medicines, Juhi stresses on the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy diet. She has excluded certain food items to maintain her thyroid levels. Sharing details about the same, she stated:
“One should stay clear from fried food. Also, one should cut down on the intake of butter. Furthermore, items like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, soy products can work against the health of a thyroid patient. Hence, I drastically reduced the intake of these food items until the time I was in the process of losing weight. Also, I went for gluten-free food variants to bring down my thyroid levels.”
On the work front, Juhi Parmar has entered the OTT space with her show, Yeh Meri Family 2.
