According to reports, the duo is expecting their first child together. For the unversed, Jon and Anna tied the knot just a few years ago, on June 24, 2023. Many might not be aware, but John had previously admitted that he was not in love with the idea of marriage. He also claimed that he was terrified when proposing to Anna.
John Hamm revealed feeling ‘terrified’ when he proposed to his now-wife, Anna Osceola
During an interview, John Hamm opened up about how he previously thought marriage was “meaningless” to him. He blamed his parents’ divorce for his outlook, revealing that once they separated, they never thought of remarrying. This also led him to never have “a particularly defined example of marriage” in his life. John stated:
"My parents got divorced when I was two and never remarried. So, it doesn't mean anything to me. I don't mean to say that it shouldn't mean things to other people. I'm not judging it one way or another. It's just my experience. I don't have that paragon of married life to look at and think, 'Oh yeah, that's it! That's what I want!'"
However, Jon changed his mind when he met his now-wife, Anna Osceola. The duo had crossed paths for the first time in 2015 on the set of his show, Mad Men. Anna appeared in a small role in the finale episode, but as her relationship with Jon continued to grow behind the scenes, the duo began dating in 2020. Jon confessed that when the time came to finally pop the question to the love of his life, it wasn't easy for him. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, he said:
"I just knew at a certain point I wanted to be with this person. But when I proposed, I was terrified. I was like, 'What am I doing?' I just remember feeling, 'This is really scary.' Then going, 'Well, it probably means it’s worthwhile.'"
Jon Hamm said that he was glad he decided to marry Anna. Gushing about their wedding day, the actor claimed that it was perfect and they had everyone they loved in attendance. What made their day even more special is that Jon and Anna tied the knot in the same place that they had shot the Mad Men finale.
During the same interview, Jon opened up about wanting to have kids with his wife, Anna Osceola. Revealing that he was fine being an “old dad,” he shared, "I hope it turns into kids. It's not lost on me that I'm 53. I will be the old dad, but so it goes. It could be a good thing. We'll see."
Well, Jon’s wish is finally coming true as he is all set to become a first-time dad at the age of 55. In pictures obtained by the Daily Mail, Anna was seen proudly showing off her baby bump in a bikini in the Hamptons. The pictures were reportedly taken last week, where the 38-year-old actress appears to be in her second trimester.
