'John Stewart' was married to 'Katma Tui'
It was in the early 1970s that 'Katma Tui' was introduced as 'John Stewart's wife. Katma wasn’t just a love interest; she was a former Green Lantern of Korugar, a survivor of Sinestro’s cruelty, and John’s equal in intellect, will, and moral clarity. Through Cosmic Odyssey, Green Lantern: Mosaic, and countless quiet references afterwards, 'Katma’s presence lingers, not as a ghost, but as a wound that never fully healed. This romance wasn't meant to reset. Some characters find many love interests, but this love story was meant to matter. 'John Stewart' got one, and it changed everything. Their domestic life ended in tragedy when 'Katma' died and 'John' was devastated.

'John' and 'Shayera' began to develop feelings for one another. Their relationship becomes messy as 'Shayera' has a secret connection with the Thanagarian military.
