John Goodman lost 90 kg of weight after surgery
John Goodman, who is famous for his role as 'Dan Conner' in the '90s sitcom, talked about his weight loss journey. He stated that he became an alcoholic to deal with his health issues, and there came a point when he tried to quit his addiction, he ended up getting hospitalized. He said:
"The thing about instant gratification is you don't really care what's going to happen right after it—which always led to bigger hangovers or me getting the shakes, and having to drink to get rid of the shakes, and that vicious cycle. I was in a position, when I quit, where I had to be hospitalized one way or the other. I just was tired of it, and I wanted to stop."
Goodman quit drinking entirely at the age of 55, but he was struggling to lose weight. He revealed that he would lose sixty pounds in summer and gain it back, and it got tiring for him. He revealed that he was almost four hundred pounds. However, weight-loss surgery helped John lose weight for good. He revealed that he had an operation on his stomach. However, he didn't share many details about the procedure. He also revealed that he became anemic and lost a layer of fat under his skin, and he felt cold all the time.

Carrying that much weight for so long doesn't translate very well into old age." A second commented, "Considering how unhealthy his lifestyle was for years, I’d say he doesn’t look too bad for 74."

In March 2018, the show had a revival premiere, but it was canceled due to internal issues.
