However, Joe and Sophie confirmed the rumours when they announced their separation on September 6, 2023, and left their massive fanbase in deep shock. Soon after the couple announced their separation, they were put on a media trial and negative rumours about the reason behind their divorce started doing rounds on the internet. And now, Joe has finally reacted to the same at his recent concert. For the unversed, Joe and Sophie tied the knot in 2019, and they are blessed with two beautiful daughters.
On September 10, 2023, an X handle (previously known as Twitter) dropped a video of Joe Jonas from one of his recent concerts at the Dodger Stadium, LA. In the video, the singer can be seen talking about the ongoing rumours surrounding his divorce with Sophie Turner. Talking about the same, Joe mentioned that it has been a tough week for him. He then requested his fans not to believe the negative reports about his and Sophie's divorce reason. Mentioning that they should trust what he says, Joe said:
"It's been a tough week, I just wanna say, look, if you don't heart it from these lips, don't believe it, Okay? Thank you everyone for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys."

Soon after the video was posted on the X ( previously known as Twitter), netizens flooded the comment section of the post with their witty reactions. While one of the internet users commented, "I would totally believe someone that said "only trust my word" on a 2 sided story," another one wrote, "Bro. Where was this last week when Sophie was being dragged? Internet turns against him and he p much says, 'don't believe anyone but me.'" One more social media user wrote, "So, he wants to control the narrative. Don't think so." Another comment can be read as, "This is so hypocritical considering Joe's camp has been attacking Sophie and leaking shit to the tabloids. her camp hasn't said anything."
Earlier, a report by TMZ mentioned that problems started brewing in Joe and Sophie's marriage for the past six months. As per the reports, Joe has been single-handedly raising their daughters for the last three months and this has intensified the troubles in their marriage. As per the report, one of the foremost reasons behind Joe and Sophie's divorce was the stark difference in their lifestyle. Apparently, Sophie’s love for parties has led to her divorce from Joe.

For the unversed, it was on September 6, 2023, when Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas announced their separation. Sharing the same picture notes on their respective IG handles, the duo penned a note about their divorce and called it a mutual and amicable decision. Their note could be read as:
"Statement from the two of us: After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
