Artemis II is set to return to Earth in a few hours. But while everyone is paying attention to the astronaut, their families waiting back home have also made headlines. Whether it was Mission's head, Reid Wiseman's late wife, Carroll, Christina Koch's husband, Robert or Jeremy's wife, Catherine. Among others, a video of the latter before Jeremy finally went to space has resurfaced. The video a rare insight into how families prepare emotionally and practically during a space mission
Artemis II mission crew member, Jeremy Hensen's wife, Dr Catherine, is waiting for her husband's return, along with countless other people on our planet. As their return draws closer, an old video of Catherine has resurfaced, offering a glimpse of what it takes for families to support their loved ones in space. In the video, Dr Catherine, a medical doctor, also spoke about balancing her demanding career while preparing for her husband's mission.

She explained that she was already running on a busy schedule as a Chief Medical Officer for Effica Health. Since her employer was planning to open pan-Canadian clinics, she was busy applying for active medical licenses. Simultaneously, she was attending NASA briefings for the family members of the Artemis II mission to prepare them in case something went wrong. Overall, the video showcased how the family of the Artemis 11 crew carried on with their work despite something extraordinary happening with their loved ones. Lastly, she opened up about what kept her going during the time and penned:
"Showing you my happy place, my yoga mat, the grounding zone I have needed more than ever as we sit just 17 days from the first Artemis II launch window. Behind the scenes, I'm juggling pan-Canadian clinic logistics, active medical licenses, NASA briefings, CSA contingency planning and "what if" conversations that no family of a moon-bound astronaut ever wants to have, but absolutely must."

Professionally, Dr Catherine Hansen is a successful medical professional. She is a physician with more than 25 years of experience. Later, she trained as an obstetrician-gynaecologist and served as a clinical professor. Apart from work, Catherine has been married to Jeremy for more than two decades. Together, the couple has children. As the spouse of a crew member, she is not just involved in the high-pressure briefings, but also caring for her family in his absence.

On the other hand, Jeremy Hansen has made history with the Artemis II mission. He is a mission specialist tasked with monitoring spacecraft systems and supporting operations during their journey around the Moon. For those unaware, Artemis II marks the first crewed lunar mission in decades. In fact, Jensen is the first Canadian to go on a moon mission. But his journey was anything but easy. He spent years training as a fighter pilot in the Army before pursuing qualifications in Space Science and Physics.

Jeremy's education, decades of training and work with the Canadian Space Agency made him a suitable pick for the special mission. Interestingly, he has carried four moon-shaped pendants with his wife's and his kids' birthstones, representing his family, on the historic mission.
