Jeremy Hansen is a famous Canadian astronaut who is in the headlines for his recent lunar mission. For the unversed, Jeremy is part of NASA's Artemis II. He is the first Canadian astronaut to fly to low Earth Orbit, which is a historical moment for Canadians. It will last around 10 days, and it will carry four astronauts to find life on moon. 

For the unversed, Jeremy Hansen is the first non-American to hop on the space journey. The spacecraft is said to fly approximately 252,000 miles from Earth and loop around the Moon before its return. It is also said that the spacecraft will travel nearly 685,000 miles, which is a major milestone. Amidst this development, all eyes are on Jeremy Hansen's personal life.

Who is Jeremy Hansen's wife, Catherine Hansen?

Jeremy Hansen's wife, Catherine is making headlines after the news of her husband, Jeremy Hansen's moon mission. Catherine likes to keep her life private. But her suport is commendable when it comes to her husband's career in space exploration. Jeremy and Catherine are married for past 23 years and they have three children who live in Canada. She takes care of Jeremy's persona life as her husband navigates the tiresome but exciting life of being an astronaut. At times of Jeremy's absence during the long training schedules and extended missions, his wife makes sure all the needs of the family is met.

In several of his interviews, Jeremy expressed the unwavering support his wife gives him during his mission. He often admires his wife's strength and resilence. As the crew is prepping for Artemis II mission, they are preparing for the risks associated with deep-space travel. Meanwhile, Catherine is there as a backbone of the family while her husband is getting ready for the most-challening yet exciting moon mission. 

For the unversed, Catherine is also a famous obstetrician-gynecologist. She met her husband in Mosse Jaw, when she went there to meet her brother who was getting his Air Force Pilot wings. During their first interaction, Jeremy told her how he was planning to become an astronaut. They had an interesting start, as Catherine thought it was crazy idea to say it loud. But after a lot of thought she realised that if he is saying it loud, he meant it and he could achieve it. 

In an interview, Catherine revealed after days, weeks and months, of knowing him, she found out that Jeremy meant every word of what he said about his future plans of being an astronaut. And she did her best to be the support to make him be one and live the dream. She said:

"And as I got to know him, even over that day, weeks, months later, I realized he meant every word of it. And we were going to do everything we could to make it happen."

Before his accompanisment as an astronaut, Jeremy was a fight pilot when he got selected to become one of the two recruits selected by the Canadian Space Agency in 2009. His wife, Catherine was quoted as saying:

"I cannot really explain to people how important it is to just lift each other up, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. He’s done that with my work and my business. I’ve done that with him and his work."

As per Catherine it feels no less than a miracle to see her husband live his childhood dream. Talking about how the family is getting ready for Jeremy's big mission, they are spending as much time together as possible before he jets off to moon. As per Catherine it is incredible to witness her husband represent Canada on the mission. She said:

"He’s also, believe it or not, really looking forward to having the opportunity to share something that very few, if any, humans have ever experienced. He really has the heart for wanting people to go on this ride with him."
