While not many details about their personal lives are known, reports claimed that the country singer met his ex at a mutual friend's house when he was selling drugs.

Eventually, when they were dating, Felicia got pregnant with Bailee. During that time, Jelly Roll was going through a tough phase of life as he was arrested. When Felicia welcomed Bailee in 2008, Jelly Roll was serving a sentence. Speaking about the same, Jelly Roll shared once that it was after the moment of his daughter's birth that he stopped living in a selfish way and actually thought of putting someone else before himself. "I had an extra, interesting, traumatic childhood. Bunnie did, my dad did. They're important reasons for why my mom is in my life now and is sober," Bailee said. "As a teenager, I've moved on. I've worked through my childhood. But that doesn't make it go away. It made me who I am today."

In a documentary, Jelly Roll mentioned that Felicia eventually made it really hard for him, as he would often have to go to court to pay a visit. The situation eventually changed when, in 2016, Felicia was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Felicia then developed a pill addiction and progressed into a heroin addiction. As she was struggling with this, Jelly filed for full custody of his daughter, and he and his then-new wife, Bunnie Xo, won the case.

In another podcast, Dumb Blonde, Bailee and Bunnie revealed that Felicia relapsed in 2024, after six years of being sober. She could be quoted as saying:
