They started seeing each other after some time and got married secretly in 2010. In 2019, Jay and Mahhi had welcomed their first child together, whom they have named Tara Bhanushali.

We spent a lot abroad. We had a white wedding in Vegas. Mahhi wanted one, she wanted to get wed in the white dress."

Jay Bhanushali is one of the participants in the reality show, Bigg Boss 15. During one of the episodes, the handsome actor got candid with the housemates and talked about his Christian wedding with Mahhi. Jay revealed that during one of their trips to LA, the driver, who was touring them around told them about the chapel where Jennifer Lopez and other celebs got married. Listening to the same, Mahhi had decided that they should also get married there and that was how the two got hitched in LA.
On September 9, 2021, as Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij completed 11 years of togetherness, the duo had taken to their respective social media handles to pen one of the best wishes for each other. The doting husband, Jay Bhanushali had shared a video from a beach, with Mahhi and their daughter, Tara Bhanushali. In the video, the duo was seen sealing their 11th anniversary with a passionate lip lock and their little one had looked at them with wide eyes.
Along with the video, Jay had written, "Happy Anniversary @mahhivij no matter how much you shop online, do things to irritate me, don't agree on anything I do, I will still be next to you..changed my life when @tarajaymahhi came in our life...baaki bahot izzad dedi ajj ke liye will not stop pulling your leg with my jokes.''

On the other hand, Mahhi Vij had also taken to her Instagram handle to share a picture with 'Tara Ke Papa' and had penned a heartmelting note for him. She had written, ''No matter how much you pull my leg, no matter how much you may crack jokes about marriage but you know I’m the best thing that happened to you! Happy Anniversary Tara Ke Papa! It’s been 11 years of laughter, ups and downs, smiles, tears but I know it’s all worth it @jaybhanushali.''
