Jason Biggs and his wife, Jenny Mollen, have decided to part ways after 18 years of marriage. While the decision didn't come easy for the couple, it has garnered immense media attention. Amid that, the spotlight has once again fallen on Jason's past and the numerous controversies in it.
In 2014, a Boeing 777 crashed while flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. At the time, the pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and the Ukrainian government had accused each other of shooting the jet down with a missile. However, the crash caused the death of over 250 passengers. Amid that time of grief, Biggs took to his X (formerly Twitter) and shared an insensitive comment that read, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"

Soon enough, he tried to defend his tweet, calling people out, saying, "losers are literally trying to find s**t to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere." However, he later apologised for his comment, saying he was sorry and understood that it was a horrible tragedy, and that "everyone, including myself, is sad and angry about it." He concluded the same by saying:
"P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologise."

On August 29, 2012, Jason Biggs once again posted a series of vulgar tweets about Mitt Romney's wife, Ann Romney and Vice Presidential nominee, Paul Ryan's wife, Janna. In a tweet he wrote, "I'd totes dip a pinky or two in Paul Ryan's wife's bleached asshole (she obvs bleaches her asshole.) #RNC." The comment drew immense backlash.

However, it was on September 1, 2012, when @TMNTMaster, the account used to promote Nickelodeon's Turtles reboot, encouraged followers to check out Biggs' account that things got even further out of hand. While Biggs had deleted the RNC tweet, Nickelodeon had to issue an apology that read:

"Nickelodeon does not support or condone the use of graphic or vulgar language on any of our platforms. It was our mistake to link from our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Twitter feed to Jason's personal Twitter account, and we quickly corrected our error. We also insisted Jason use better judgment and discretion in public communications while affiliated with our brand."
However, Jason's controversies know no end. He took to his Twitter during the premiere of The Bachelorette on May 19, 2014 and mocked late contestant Eric Hill, who passed away in April in a paragliding accident. He tweeted, "Crazy rule change—instead of voting off the contestants, this season #TheBachelorette gets to kill them off." However, that was not it; Biggs posted another insensitive tweet where he didn't just make fun of Hill's passing but also made an offensive comment about the participants' sexuality, saying, "Here's what I can tell you without watching—8 of the 20 guys are in the closet, all of them work out, and 2 can do simple division. And 19 of them are still alive. #TooSoon."

While Jason's controversial comments often left everyone shocked, it was his conversation with Well with Arielle Lorre on June 4, 2026, that left everyone stunned. The actor got candid about his drug and alcohol addiction, and reflected on how bad it really was. He shared how his own wife, Jenny, wasn't fully aware of how bad it was. He recalled that he once did cocaine by himself in his house and swore it would be his last line. He even threw the bag in the trash outside his residence. However, as soon as the buzz would wear off, he'd find himself doing more. He revealed that he would go into his trash and take out the bag to do drugs.
Jason Biggs also reflected on how he constantly struggled with staying sober while he was living in Los Angeles, and even moved to New York to get away from it. While he still slipped off the wagon a couple of times in the beginning, he now feels grateful for his decision. He stated:
"I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line. I was like, 'What the f— am I doing? This is absolutely insane.'...There's something about the energy of New York that gives me something, that fills me in a way that Los Angeles couldn’t. So, I did fall off the wagon here, but that was seven and a half years ago, and it’s been going well."
