Janhvi Kapoor’s world went upside down on February 24, 2018, when her mother, the legendary actress, Sridevi passed away due to accidental drowning. The unfortunate incident had left the two sisters, Janhvi and Khushi broken and it was Janhvi, who had become an emotional anchor for her sister and father, Boney Kapoor. It’s been two years since Sridevi’s death and the family can’t still come in terms with her death. Janhvi keeps on sharing beautiful unseen pictures of her mother making all her fans teary-eyed. August 13, 2019, marked the 56th birth anniversary of late Sridevi and it was Janhvi, who had penned a simple note for her. She had written, “Happy birthday Mumma, I love you.” The simple message had spoken volumes about the vacuum in their lives.
On March 4, 2020, Janhvi took to her Instagram stories and shared frames of two unseen pictures from her archives. The first one of her parents, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor and the other one was a childhood picture of Sridevi. In the first picture, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi looked adorable as he cuddled her and in the second picture, Sridevi looked cute beyond words.
Living with the loss of someone close to you is unimaginable and it becomes even more difficult on certain days. Janhvi Kapoor had gone through a similar emotion on February 24, 2020, on her mother’s second death anniversary. Janhvi had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an unseen monochrome picture, where she was seen giving a tight cuddle to her mother, Sridevi. Ever since Janhvi Kapoor had made her debut in 2018 with the film, Dhadak, she had never shied away from giving an insight into the lives of the Kapoors and her relationship with late mom, Sridevi. At Benetton fragrance launch event, Janhvi had given a sneak peek into her own personal olfactory memory lane, describing scents that reminded her of some cherishable moments of her life, which was related with Sridevi. Revealing her mother's favourite scent, Janhvi said, "My childhood smells like my mom. We used to spend a lot of time in our home in Chennai, and she used to put mogras all over our house and in her hair, so it smells like her."
On May 13, 2018, i.e., Mother’s Day, Janhvi and her sister, Khushi Kapoor were indeed missing their mother, Sridevi on the special day. And while almost every celeb had shared posts on their social media dedicating a heart-warming message for their mothers, Janhvi too had joined the bandwagon. Janhvi had shared a candid picture with Sridevi, wherein the mother-daughter duo could be seen twinning in denim dungarees.
Janvhi, who had made her big Bollywood debut in 2018, after the death of her mother has often spoken about the void she feels in her heart. In an interview with Famously Filmfare, the millennial influencer had opened about the pain of losing her mother. She had stated, “I think, I was still in that state of shock, to be very honest. I think I am still in shock. None of it has been processed.
