Initially, he was rumoured to be dating his Dhadak co-star, Janhvi Kapoor but after their alleged breakup, Ishaan was rumoured to be dating actress, Ananya Panday.

After their constant appearances together, the conjectures around Ishaan and his Khaali Peeli co-star, Ananya had started gaining a lot of attention. From walking hand-in-hand at Deepika Padukone’s 35th birthday to heading out to the Maldives for a vacation together, this adorable couple has more or less confirmed their dating rumours.
On June 28, 2021, Ishaan Khatter hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with his fans, where the handsome actor answered a number of questions. During the interaction, one of his fans asked him, “Who is your favourite person to do yoga with?” To which, Ishaan shared a childhood picture of Ananya Panday, looking cute in her polka doted dress with a matching cap. Along with the picture, Ishaan wrote, “This little elf. Paid promotion by @ananyapanday.”
On October 30, 2020, when Ananya had turned a year older, Ishaan had posted a sunkissed picture of her and had penned the sweetest wish for her. His wish could be read as “Happy birthday sunshine girl.” On the other hand, Ananya had reciprocated the love by sharing a selfie of the two on Ishaan’s birthday on November 1, 2020 and had captioned the post as “Happy bday little Mr sunshine... here’s to more pancakes and adventures.”
On June 1, 2020, Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter’s social media flirting had caught everyone’s attention. Ananya had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a picture, where she could be seen lying on the couch, with a homemade mask applied on her face. What had attracted our attention most was a comment from her Khaali Peeli co-star, Ishaan Khatter. He had written in the comments section, "What's in the mask, honey?" To which, Ananya Panday had replied, "Yes honey.. dahi and haldi."

In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Ananya was questioned about the one thing that she wouldn’t mind changing about Ishaan Khatter’s Instagram account. Talking about the same, she had said, “I am constantly trying to change his Instagram so I think he can give you this answer. As I am always like ‘Post this, post that’. I think he should continue posting his shirtless pictures on his Instagram.” When asked whether she loves those shirtless pictures of him, to which she had replied, “Who doesn’t?”
