Isha Ambani and her mommy, Nita Ambani’s relationship is often listed under one of the most beautiful celebrity mommy-daughter duos. From twinning with their apparels on various occasions, ensuring that daughter Isha gets only the best, making stellar performances and killing the dance floor at her daughter’s wedding and also ensuring that her social service doesn’t take a backseat even when it was one of the most important and busiest days of her life, Nita Ambani and her daughter, Isha Ambani need no further description!
With everybody dreaming to be like the Ambanis, quite a private person, Isha, in a recent interview with Vogue, shared many interesting details about the life of the Ambanis, the feeling to be a part of such a prestigious lineage and growing up in the Ambani household and the ‘boss lady’ of the Ambani house, Nita Ambani. There will hardly be any occasion wherein, you will spot Isha or most of her family members without Nita.
In a one of a kind revelation, Isha shared that she and her twin brother, Akash were born through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)! Speaking about the same, Isha shared,
“My parents had us after seven years of marriage—my twin Akash and I were IVF babies. When my mother finally had us she wanted to be a full-time mum initially. Later, she went back to work when we were five, but she was still a tiger mom.”
Recalling their mom-daughter fights, Isha further stated,
“I remember, whenever mom and I had fights, we’d call dad to resolve the issue. My mom was way stricter. If we wanted to bunk school, dad would be like “It’s no big deal” but mom would ensure we ate on time, studied hard and got our playtime as well. My grandparents (paternal and maternal) and my maasi played a huge role in bringing us up.”
What is it like to grow up in one of the most respectable and richest families in the world? Isha answered in the same interview,

“The surprising truth is that though my parents were exceptionally busy, they were really hands-on. I was born in 1991, right after Liberalisation, which was a real inflection point for the Indian economy—it was the first time that Indian companies could dream of global scale. I saw my father work very hard to chase that dream and build Reliance into the organisation that it is today. And though he worked long hours, he was always there when we needed him. At home, we were raised to have the same value system that our parents grew up with. They made sure we understood the value of money, hard work and humility.”
Apart from being a wonderful mother and a wife, Nita Ambani has been leading various Reliance enterprises. Speaking about what she has learnt from her mother and about her attitude towards women at her workplace, the multi-millionaire heiress shared,
“As much as I want to believe that women can have it all, I know that my mom gave it all up to raise us. But once we grew up, I also saw her balance work and home perfectly. Watching her play all these different roles—from full-time mom to businesswoman—I learnt how important each facet is in a woman’s life and how one needs to define what “having it all” means during these different stages. I feel very passionately about gender equality and equal participation in the work force because growing up I was made to believe that I could do whatever my brothers could do, as well if not better. So as a working woman, I believe that companies must create an environment that fosters equal participation.”
Speaking of Isha’s wedding, the 27-year-old got married to her best friend, Anand Piramal in a big fat wedding on December 12, 2018. The then bride had worn an ivory outfit and was decked in diamond from head-to-toe. But there was something even more unique about attire. As per her stylist, Ami Gupta, Isha Ambani had her mother, Nita Ambani's wedding dress as a major part of her wedding attire!
Yes, Isha carried her mother, Nita Ambani's, 35-year-old red wedding saree, as her dupatta (as you can see it in the picture), with her main ivory wedding ensemble done by designer duo, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla! Her stylist posted a picture of Isha on her Instagram handle and captioned it as,
"Simplicity Stunnnns @_iiishmagish #ishaambani wearing this gorgeous @abujanisandeepkhosla hand-embroidered couture creation and her mother’s wedding sari (panetar) as a dupatta on her wedding day.
