For the unversed, on February 27, 2026, Sangeetha filed for divorce from Vijay in the Chengalpattu Family Court. Amid the trouble in paradise and alleged affair rumours, Vijay contested his first elections on April 23, 2026, as the leader of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Is Thalapathy Vijay's daughter, Divya Saasha, a supporter of his party TVK? Find out

Recently, screenshots claiming that Divya Saasha, the daughter of Vijay Thalapathy, is supporting his political party, TVK, circulated online. Soon, the screenshots of her Instagram Stories went viral. One of the stories featured a clip of Thalapathy Vijay along with the song, Chella Magale from his upcoming film, Jana Nayagan. However, as the viral screenshots gained momentum, it also raised doubts about whether the Instagram handle actually belonged to Divya. Initial checks stated that the IG handle 'd.shash' was a private account with the name, Divya Shasha, a spelling that differs from her original known name. Shortly after, the account disappeared entirely, making the viral claim unreliable. This suggests that the profile was either fake or created temporarily.

Thalapathy Vijay's alleged girlfriend, Trisha Krishnan, showed her support for his party, TVK, by casting her vote

On April 23, 2026, Trisha Krishnan took to her Instagram handle and shared snaps of her inked finger. She captioned the post with the evil eye and the pointing finger emoji. Although, Trisha didn’t mention the party she chose, the fans were quick to connect the dots and guessed that the Leo actress chose Vijay’s party, TVK. A user wrote, "If you know, you know. BGM hints at who you voted for. Anni on fire, and Trisha Vettri Kazhagam (victory party). What a soft launch. Brother's song, Music tells everything. The song and the smile- pure cinema. Vijay Thalapathy and Sangeetha Sornalingam's divorce row

According to the latest reports, on April 20, 2026, the Chengalpattu Family Welfare Court in Tamil Nadu postponed the hearing of Vijay and Sangeetha’s divorce case to June 15, 2026. The case reportedly came before Judge Sasikala for a hearing, and after a brief session, she adjourned it by pushing the hearing of the case to mid-June 2026. For the uninitiated, Sangeetha Sornalingam filed for divorce from Vijay Thalapathy, citing adultery. Yes, you read it right.

According to The Indian Express report, Sangeetha has filed for divorce at the Chengalpattu Family Court, and her petition was filed under Section (1)(a), (b), (d) and Sections 36 & 37 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954. The decision to part ways came after 26 years of marriage. For those unaware, Vijay tied the knot with Sangeetha on August 25, 1999.

The couple shares two children, a son named Jason Sanjay and a daughter named Divya Saasha. In her petition, Vijay’s wife stated that she came to know about her husband in 2021 and gave him repeated chances as he gave her assurances. But the actor-turned-politician continued his extramarital affair with the actress, claimed Sangeetha. Her petition can be read as:

"The respondent continued travelling abroad and attending public events with the said actress. The actress regularly posted photographs of these outings on social media. The respondent neither denied nor objected to these posts, thereby tacitly endorsing them. These posts widely circulated, causing repeated humiliation to the petitioner and the children."
