The event happened on April 2, 2026; however, what grabbed attention was Selena's oversized outfit, which made fans believe that the singer might be expecting her first child with her husband, Benny Blanco.

When Selena Gomez revealed that she couldn’t carry her own child

While there have been multiple speculations about Selena Gomez being pregnant, do you know that the singer can’t carry her own child due to multiple health issues? Well, for the unversed, Selena had a candid conversation with Vanity Fair, during which she opened up about the same. When asked about if she has spoken about not being able to carry her child, the singer-turned-actress was quoted as saying:

"I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while."

Later, the Lose You To Love Me singer also opened up about adopting a child and having one with surrogacy. Selena Gomez had once shared that after her diagnosis with lupus, it is not safe for her to have a child because of the medications. According to a report by BBC, Selena’s mother is also adopted. Sharing her thoughts on adoption and surrogacy, the Only Murders In The Building star shared:

"It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby."
