Akansha Chamola, the wife of television actor and Bigg Boss Season 19 winner, Gaurav Khanna, has found herself in the headlines for all things personal. For those unaware, she dropped a bombshell during the first episode of Lock Upp Season 2, which premiered on Netflix, about how she is headed for a divorce. The news left not only the couple's fans shocked but also the show's hosts, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Amid the shocking declaration, some fans are now questioning if Akansha is truly getting divorced from Gaurav or if she is faking it to get sympathy.

Bigg Boss 19 winner, Gaurav Khanna, is well known for being a green flag in the industry. This is why fans are wondering what led Akansha Chamola and him to decide to part ways. With the news of their divorce being revealed during the premiere of Netflix's Lock Upp Season 2, the biggest question on fans' minds is whether Akansha is faking the divorce to earn sympathy on the show. Many have also noticed how, before the show's premiere, Akansha and Gaurav seemed all lovey-dovey and appeared together at various parties and events. 

For instance, just a few months before their divorce news, Akansha had posted a series of cutesy photos celebrating Holi with her husband, Gaurav. Among the pictures, one that caught our eyes the most is where she can be seen putting her arm around Gaurav's neck while kissing him on the cheek. In a selfie that the duo took together, Akansha and Gaurav appeared all smiles with their heads touching and close together. 

Taking note of all these, fans took to Akansha's comment section to question if the divorce news was real or fake. One social media user wrote, “Why did you act like you were together even though you were divorced. Kya yaar…I really hope whatever you said there was fake…Please stay together.” Another wrote, “Is it a rumor or a marketing stunt, because you are still Khanna.” A third user penned a long note and wrote:

“I know the divorce story is just made up, don't make fun of your relationship. I found you both mature enough and when these news were circulating all over the media, you both clarified it and it's fake. Now you are saying this, I know it can be because of makers want you to say this to hype their show, but it's your responsibility also…I am not stupid like all audience who are believing that you both do something like this announcement of a divorce on a show.” 

What did Akansha Chamola say about her divorce from Gaurav Khanna?

According to a clip from the Lock Upp Season 2 premiere, Akansha Chamola revealed that she and her husband, Gaurav Khanna, have decided to part ways and are heading for a divorce. She claimed that they had actually been living separately for the past year, but had decided to keep the matter private until now. Akansha noted that she and Gaurav landed on the decision to divorce after a lengthy discussion. In her words:

“Gaurav Khanna and I are getting divorced. We have been living separately for the past year. People don't know about this yet. This is a decision we have both taken. We have been talking about it for the past year.” 

While their decision to get a divorce has left everyone shocked and heartbroken, Akansha shared that there is no bitterness between her and her husband, Gaurav. Even though they are headed for divorce, they will still continue to love and respect each other. She was quoted as saying:

“There is nothing bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other, but we feel that we are not right for each other as partners. This is because we both want different things in life.”
