Akanksha Chamola CONFIRMS Divorce From Gaurav Khanna On 'Lock Upp 2', 'Going On Since BB 19...'

Lock Upp 2 has just premiered, and we already have a bombshell revelation from one of the contestants. During the first episode of Netflix's Lock Upp, Akanksha Chamola, the wife of television actor and Bigg Boss Season 19 winner, Gaurav Khanna, has made some shocking announcements. In the very first episode, Akanksha made a revelation that left Farah and her fans in utter shock.

Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna are headed for a divorce

Akanksha Chamola will be participating in Lock Upp 2. However, little did fans know that her appearance would come with a shocking revelation. According to a clip from the show's premiere, the actress revealed that she and her husband, Gaurav Khanna, have decided to part ways and are heading for divorce. She shared that the two have been living separately for the past year, but had kept the matter private until now. The actress revealed that they have come to the decision after a lengthy discussion. She was quoted as saying:

"Gaurav Khanna and I are getting divorced. We have been living separately for the past year. People don’t know about this yet. This is a decision we have both taken. We have been talking about it for the past year."

What is the reason behind Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna getting a divorce?

Akanksha Chamola's confession came as a surprise to Farah Khan, who appeared visibly taken aback. While the decision left everyone shocked, the actress clarified that there is no bitterness between her and Gaurav Khanna, and they will continue to love and respect each other. However, over time, they realised that they may not be right for each other as life partners. She recalled how their families suggested they spend some time apart before making the decision, which really cleared their minds. She said:

"There is nothing bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other, but we feel that we are not right for each other as partners. That is because we both want different things in life."

Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna no longer felt like a couple

In the same interaction, Akanksha Chamola revealed that their marital issues had been ongoing since Gaurav Khanna participated in Bigg Boss 19. She shared that people believed they would eventually reconcile because they were in touch with each other and were being seen together publicly. She stated:

"All this has been going on since Bigg Boss 19. Gaurav’s parents and my parents told us to stay separately for some time. Sometimes, when you stay away, you realise each other’s importance. Everyone thought that since we were talking, appearing together on social media and supporting each other at events, we would get back together. But we are not getting that couple-like feeling anymore."

Gaurav Khanna wanted to have kids, while Akanksha Chamola didn't 

On Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav told Mridul Tiwari that he loves kids, but since Akanksha doesn’t want to have kids, they haven't welcomed a child. He was quoted as saying, "I want to become a father, but my wife Akanksha is not ready for it. Her thinking is also absolutely right. If I am working all day and she also has work, who will take care of the child? We don’t want someone else to take care of our child. When I expressed my wish, she explained her side to me, and I understood her point." At the time, his statement sparked conversation around parenthood and personal choices and now with Akanksha's announcement, the limelight is back on the couple.
