However, a recent report about his last words to his wife, Sudapa Sikdar before closing his eyes in eternal peace is doing rounds all over the internet. The revelation is making people cry a little more as the beloved actor remembered his mother in his last moments which tells us about his love for his mother.
According to a report by Peepingmoon, it has been revealed that in the last moments of his life, Irrfan Khan was seeing his mother. The legendary actor told his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, who was sitting besides him in tears with their son, Babil, ex-manager, Asif, and driver, Hashmat in the same room. Irrfan told his wife that his mother has come to ease his pain. The actor told his wife, “Now, I’m certain that I’m going to die. Amma is there in the room. Look, she is sitting by my side, Amma has come to take me away.” As we all know that Irrfan Khan lost his mother a few days ago and because of the lockdown he had attended her funeral through a video call. One of Irrfan Khan’s dear friends and filmmaker, Sandeep Singh among many others who lent their shoulders in actor's last walk. The filmmaker took to his Instagram handle and posted a heartfelt note for him and thanked him for everything he has done for him along with a heartbreaking picture. A little excerpt from his long note can be read as "Never imagined shouldering the burden of your loss would weigh so heavy on my heart. “Thank you Irrfan Bhai for standing by me in my times of crises. You were there when not many wanted to even acknowledge me. You are one of a kind and I will continue to use the present tense because for me human beings like you never die. Your persona, your aura, your love for cinema and your philosophy of life will continue to remain an inspiration and guide me.”
No wonder, the actor deserves peace now after fighting against the dangerous disease for years without kneeling in front of it. The news of his sudden demise has sent shockwaves around the world because such is the fan following he had created in his career. According to the Hindustan Times, Irrfan’s family gave a statement that can be read as “Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him. After having been struck by lightning in 2018 with the news of rare cancer, he took life soon after as it came and he fought the many battles that came with it. Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heavenly abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own. We all pray and hope that he is at peace.
