Aamir Khan and Reena Datta’s daughter, Ira Khan is a talented star kid just like her father and everyone is eagerly waiting for her to announce her Bollywood debut. Meanwhile, she has already made her debut behind the camera. In 2019, Ira had made her directorial debut with a theatre production, Euripides' Medea. The play was an adaptation of Euripides' Greek tragedy, Medea and had starred her brother, Junaid Khan and actress, Hazel Keech.

Ira Khan was in a serious relationship with musician, Mishaal Kirpalani in 2019. But in April 2020, there were reports that Mishaal and Ira had called off their relationship. A few months after the reports of Ira Khan’s breakup with Mishaal Kirpalani, her dating rumours with her fitness coach, Nupur Shikhare had hit the headlines. And in February 2021, Ira had made her relationship with Nupur Insta-official.
On April 9, 2021, Ira Khan took to her IG stories and shared a sketch of her, made by her talented boyfriend, Nupur Shikhare. Sharing the sketch, Ira appreciated Nupur’s artistic skills and wrote, “How?! You've only drawn twice in your life! That's so good!” atop it. Nupur reshared it on his IG stories along with a heart and hug emoticon.
Ira had spent the 2020 lockdown with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and her half-brother, Azad Rao Khan before shifting to her apartment in July. Then, a few months after she had moved to her own apartment, Ira had introduced her fans to the love of her life, Nupur Shikhare. Making her relationship Insta-official during Valentine's Week, Ira had posted a couple of pictures with Nupur and asked him, '#whaleyoubemine' on Promise Day. Ira had captioned her post as "It's an honour to make promises with and to you. #hi #whaleyoubemine #myvalentine #buddy #yourebetteratcheesylines #dreamboy."

According to a Pinkvilla report, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare had spent most of the lockdown together and had holidayed with each other at Khan's farmhouse in Mahabaleshwar. Be it Halloween or Diwali, the lovebirds had also celebrated the festivals together with their friends and family. To celebrate Nupur's birthday in 2019, Ira had treated him with a delicious feast that had included a cake and Cadbury Fuse Chocolate Bars. Ira had captioned the post as “What better day to cheat than in celebration of Popeye's birthday? Happy Birthday, @nupur_shikhare!” Reposting the same on his IG handle, Nupur had written, “Thank you so much @khan.ira I have overeaten is an understatement. That was really very sweet you guys @khan.ira & @photographybyroozbeh... Coffee cake with ice cream and cadbury fuse was toh heaven.” Reportedly, Ira has even introduced Nupur to her mother, Reena Datta.
On March 9, 2021, Ira Khan had taken to her IG stories and had shared a cute picture with Nupur Shikhare. In the picture, Ira was seen giving a haircut to her boyfriend, Nupur but was distracted by her phone. On the other hand, Nupur had clicked a mirror selfie with Ira, who had a scissor in one hand, while checking her phone in the other. Atop the picture, Nupur had written, “Distractions I tell you! Focus @Khan.ira.” Although, Ira had soon deleted her post.
