'Itne Bure Din,' Influencer Accuses Varun Dhawan Of Faking 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' Reviews

Varun Dhawan has been in the spotlight ever since the first look of his upcoming film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, dropped. While this left most fans excited, one influencer accused the actor of faking reviews for the film's first look. In a Reel posted on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, influencer, Simran Bhat claimed that she was approached by two individuals at the metro station for a review. She explained that these people insisted on her review even though she hadn't watched Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai's teaser. Well, now Varun Dhawan has responded to her claims himself.

Influencer, Simran Bhat, claims that she was approached at a metro for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai's first look review

A while ago, an Instagram creator named Simran Bhat posted a Reel on her page that has been gaining a lot of attention. For the unversed, Simran has over 70.9k followers. In the Reel she posted, Simran explained that she and her friend were approached by two individuals at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station. She said that these two people stopped them and told them that a Varun Dhawan film teaser had been released. When they asked them to review it, Simran told them that she hadn't even watched the teaser yet. 

In response, one of the guys who approached them said they would tell her what to say. Naturally, Simran questioned whether, if they were to tell them what to say, would it even be a genuine review. She said that if they wanted a genuine review, it would be better to get it from someone who has watched Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai's teaser. In her words: 

“Two people stopped us and said a Varun Dhawan film teaser had been released. Can you please review it? I told them I hadn’t watched it yet. The guy said, ‘It’s okay, we’ll tell you what to say.’ I questioned how it could be a review if they tell us what to say? The girl tried to reason that it’s because I hadn’t watched it yet. But if you want a genuine review, take it from those who have watched it.”

In the Reel, Simran then went on to claim that the woman who had approached her insisted that she watch Varun's film's teaser when she did not want to review it. When Simran told them she did not have time for it because she was running late, the woman told her to just leave. Simran said:

“The girl insisted that I watch it then. I said it was getting late and I needed to be somewhere. Accha niklo niklo! Jao jao. I was like, bhai, Varun Dhawan ke itne bure din aagaye kya ki usko fake reviews lene pad rahe hai? What the hell?”

Varun Dhawan responds to Simran Bhat's claims, saying she is doing it for the views

It did not take long for Varun Dhawan to see the Reel that Simran Bhat posted on her Instagram handle. Taking to the Reel's comments, the actor wrote, “Hope you get the views you really want with this video,” followed by clapping emojis. However, Simran did not budge in her claims. She responded, “@varundvn Sir, with due respect, I don't need to do these things for views. I already am satisfied with my numbers…” Simran then re-shared Varun's comment on her Instagram Stories, adding the text, “With due respect, I'm already getting good views and Tbh I'm satisfied with my numbers,” reiterating her point. 

Simran alleged that if she really needed attention from the video, she would have posted it on her feed; however, she posted it as a trial Reel. She said it is a true incident that happened to them. She added, “Also, you should definitely once check with your PR team kyuki isse aapki hi image p farak padd rha h.” Simran did not leave the matter here. Following this, she posted a screenshot of another comment that Varun had seemingly deleted, which read, “First of all, ma'am u have convinced urself that someone who has come and asked u has asked u because I sent them to u all this for views.” After posting it, Simran said that everything he said was fine, but why did he have to delete the comment?
