Popular rapper and singer, Yo Yo Honey Singh went through the most difficult phase of his life when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He was at the peak of his career, when he took a sabbatical from the music industry. Many even speculated that the singer was in rehab, however, in reality, he was actually battling with mental health. Recently, Honey Singh opened up about the same and revealed what took him so long to return to the entertainment industry.

In an interview with Brut India, Yo Yo Honey Singh opened up about his battle with bipolar disorder. Talking about the same, the singer revealed that it took him two years to understand his health problem and another three to get a suitable doctor for his treatment. He even mentioned that there are a lot of variations in mental health, and he was diagnosed with a psychotic syndrome of bipolar disorder, which is really dangerous. Honey Singh even revealed how he used to wish for death every day. In his words:

"Bhai mental health ek aisi bimari he jiske bohut saari variations he. Ye main batana chahunga saare mere chote bhaiyon ko... ki iske bohut saare colours he, anxiety, depression kuch bhi nhi he... woh ek sardi zukham he. Mujhe Covid-19 huya tha mental health ka. Ise psychotic's symptom of bipolar disorder bolte he bohut dangerous chiz he, kisiko bhi na ho,mere dushman ko bhi na ho.. aisi cheez he. I prayed for death every day, every night."

When Honey Singh advised the youth not to go to a psychiatrist

Earlier, in a conversation with Pune Times Internet, Honey Singh had shared his opinion on mental health. Talking about the same, the singer stated that anxiety and depression are like cough and cold. He even said that one should not visit a psychiatrist for it. Elaborating more on it, Honey Singh also advised the youth to address their mental health problem and talk to their family members and friends.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Honey Singh had talked about mental health and his battle with depression. The singer mentioned that it was the most terrible phase of his life. He also revealed how he had lost all his sleep and became an alcoholic in the process. Honey Singh further added that it took him 3-4 months to accept that he was not well. He even thanked his family for supporting him during the most difficult phase of his life.

In the year 2022, Honey Singh had introduced Tina Thadani as his girlfriend at an event in Delhi. Announcing his relationship with Tina, he also revealed that she is the one who had given him his name, "Honey Singh 3.0". For the unversed, the singer was earlier married to his childhood friend, Shalini Singh. However, the duo ended their marriage in 2021 on an ugly note. According to multiple media reports, Honey Singh had paid a whopping sum of Rs. 1 crore as a settlement to Shalini.
