Kaley Cuoco, best known as the 'Penny' from the wildly popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory, is ready to be a mom again! The 40-year-old actress recently shared the exciting news with fans, revealing that she and fiancé Tom Pelphrey, 43, are expecting their second child together. This time around, they are having another baby girl.
Cuoco's happy news comes just three years after welcoming the couple's first daughter, Matilda, in 2023. The happy family of three (soon to be four) posed together with a rainbow sprinkle-covered gender reveal cake showing a pink interior, along with a few snaps of the actress's baby bump, as she wrote on Instagram, "Little sissy on the way."

The joyful milestone comes as Cuoco continues to build a life with the Ozark actor after years of personal ups and downs, including two highly publicized marriages that ultimately ended in divorce.

Cuoco's first marriage was to a former tennis professional, Ryan Sweeting. Their love story moved at lightning speed. The pair first met at a blind date in August 2013, and their connection was so deep that they just couldn't keep their hands off each other. Just a day after their first date, the tennis pro moved in with the actress.

Cuoco, who later admitted she was not looking for love after her brief fling with Henry Cavill that summer, fell head over heels in love with Sweeting. Within days of dating, the actress knew she had found 'the one.' Within months, the couple got engaged and tied the knot on New Year's Eve that same year. The Meet Cute star told Ellen DeGeneres at that time:

"I was just not in a good place to meet anyone. I said, 'I'm not ready. I'm taking time away from love for a while... By day two, I was like, 'Oh my god.' It was so unbelievable. I said, 'This is it, this is it.' "
Kaley and Ryan's love story looked straight out of a fluffy Hollywood romance movie, and their PDA moments grabbed attention every time they were seen on red carpets or on dates. However, that pink filter didn't last very long. Within just two years of marriage, cracks began to form, and eventually, the gap was too big to bridge. In 2015, after just 21 months of marriage, Cuoco and Sweeting filed for a divorce.

At the time, the couple's representative cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce, stating it was a mutual decision. On May 6, 2016, their divorce was finalized, and, as per their prenuptial agreement, Cuoco kept her home in Tarzana, California, and their beach house in the Santa Barbara area. Long after the divorce, Cuoco spoke up about her heartbreak and the reason behind their split. She said in a 2018 interview:
"I married someone for the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his."
Cuoco was heartbroken after her divorce from Sweeting, but in her own words, she was in a "much better place." As she navigated her life after divorce, she found love again when she met her future husband, Karl Cooke, at a horse show in 2016. Cooke, the son of billionaire businessman Scott Cook, built a successful career in competitive equestrian sports and quickly became a major part of Cuoco's life.

It was during one of Cooke's horse shows that Cuoco met him, and they soon bonded over their shared love for animals. The TBBT star once described Cooke as a "horse whisperer," sharing how their keen interest in animals and everything horse-related connected them. Cuoco said in a 2019 interview:
"I was already involved with horses, then we happened to meet at a horse show. We share so much love for animals... I think anyone who works with animals has to have a kind soul. It's almost like he's the horse whisperer... It's really beautiful to see that patience he has with them ... he's so gentle."

After a romantic engagement in 2017, Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook had one of the dreamiest marriages the next year. The pair tied the knot in June 2018 during an intimate California wedding held at a horse stable, a fitting setting that reflected their shared passion for horses and equestrian life.
For several years, Cuoco and Cooke appeared to be one of Hollywood's happiest couples, but this marriage also did not last. In September 2021, the pair publicly announced their separation, saying they had realized their lives were moving in different directions. Their divorce was finalized on June 15, 2022, just days away from what would have been their fourth wedding anniversary. Despite the split, they have maintained an amicable relationship.
The divorce hit Cuoco particularly hard. In recent interviews, she has spoken openly about the emotional toll of the breakup, revealing that she struggled with depression and loneliness in its aftermath. She previously recalled waking up after the split feeling overwhelmed and unable to imagine how she would move forward. In a 2022 interview, Cuoco swore off marriages after the unbearable heartbreak that followed her second divorce. The Flight Attendant star told Glamour magazine at that time, "I will never get married again. You can literally put that on the cover."

While Cuoco had no plans to marry again, life had some other ideas. Her view on love and commitment changed after she met actor Tom Pelphrey, best known for his roles in Ozark and Mank. The pair met in 2022, and in no time, their relationship blossomed into a romantic and healthy partnership. In March 2023, Cuoco and Palphrey stepped into parenthood, welcoming their daughter, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey.
After meeting Tom, Kaley's approach towards the notion of marriage has changed significantly. After her 2024 engagement with the actor, she has continued sharing glimpses of their growing family with fans.
Now, with baby No. 2 on the way, Kaley Cuoco is happier than ever, and she credits it to her amazing fiancé and her favorite "girl dad."
