Hayden Panettiere shared some advice for other people while addressing her current situation
In her last public engagements before her recent death, Hayden Panettiere centered her conversations on encouraging other people. Notably, Panettiere was promoting her memoir, This is Me: A Reckoning, which addressed private battles she endured away from the spotlight, including struggles with alcohol, depression, and abusive partnerships.
A few months ago, for the July 2026 issue of parenting site Mome, Hayden spoke candidly about being a parent and offered guidance to those going through difficult periods. In that cover story, she reflected on a dangerous childbirth with her daughter, the postpartum depression that followed, and the difficult choice to have her daughter, Kaya, mainly live with her former partner, Wladimir Klitschko.
Hayden conveyed that she had consistently prioritized her daughter despite her own hardships, and expressed hope that Kaya would someday understand why she couldn’t be present every day. She also noted that personal growth is ongoing for everyone, adding that she was taking life one day at a time while putting in effort and trying her best. She even sent a message to mothers, conveying that they possess more resilience than they realize.
Back in May 2026, Hayden participated in a book signing and panel for her memoir at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles. Addressing the legacy she wanted to leave behind, she said:
“So many people have come up to me within the industry and outside of the industry and shared their stories with me and said, ‘Because you’ve talked about your mental health, it gave me the courage to be honest about mine and get myself help and you saved my life.’ I was like, This is worth it. I can hopefully leave the world a better place than I found it.”
Hayden Panettiere was active in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years
Born in 1989, Hayden Panettiere became a popular face over the years with her frequent appearances in films and television. Hayden started her journey with commercials when she was a child and was later cast as ‘Sarah Roberts’ in the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live, in 1994. She continued appearing on other shows like Aliens in the Family, How Do You Spell God?, and Unhappily Ever After.
In 1998, she made her film debut with The Object of My Affection. Apart from playing lead roles, Hayden also gave her voice to certain characters in other movies, including A Bug’s Life, Dinosaur, Scooby-Doo! and the Goblin King, Alpha and Omega, and more.
Hayden Panettiere portrayed important roles in shows such as Guiding Light, Malcolm in the Middle, Ally McBeal, Heroes, Punk’d, and Nashville. She was even featured in the music videos of I’d Rather Be With You and 1994, released by Joshua Radin and Jason Aldean, respectively.
